My son brought me a two month old pug last night. I kind of feel lost. We kind of just stare at each other. And when we aren't staring at each other, "Stewey" bites my toes and tries to take off my socks. I feel so "distant".

I used to be "warm hearted" and very easy to get to know. Seems I have become, oh dear, could it really be "shallow" and distant. Not getting close to anything or anyone. Just surface connection. Kind of looks that way. I think?

I am, could it be "scared". All of these self questioning over a lil dog. I dunno, maybe I am just tired.

When I get the "thingie" to get the pics off the camera, I will post a pic of the new pug.

I love animals. Well, at least I thought I did. Why don't I feel that aaaaaaaaa he is sooo cute stuff. And he is "mine". And all that good stuff...

Think I shall take a nap and hope that is all I need. Cuz this lil fellow needs someone who can bond and love him.

Maybe you're seeing all the work involved? Don't be too hard on yourself. I'm sure the bonding will come. Can't wait to see the pic. Baby Pugs are the cutest!

Doh, I think you may have touched on something. Puppies are a lot of hard work. Which means I have to be up and about and alert and not napping and sleeping all the time. "shame on me" for being soo sleepy and lazy lately...

Little fellow kept me wide awake alllllll day.. lol... And the 4 walks today I would have to say were refreshing....Either walk him or clean up "messes". I think walking is much easier. grins.. although he has not learned yet that going to potty out side is a good idea. I am sure in time he will get the idea..

Wisewoman, you are right too. I will love him with an open heart. How can one not love a lil, two month old puppy. He really is cute. Looks like a lil monkey, he does. lol

Being kittyless for almost a year, I was still finding myself looking around before I opened myself a can of tuna. I wasn't in a hurry to have cats again. But my son has a friend who rescues kittens from the pound and....

I took two kittens so they could entertain each other. Fat chance! They wake me up and knock over things and walk on my keyboard, and jump on the kitchen counter. And they chase balls and retrieve them. And one purrs so loud the vet couldn't hear his heart. And the other does this cooing thing. And one gets his head stuck in a Kleenex box, repeatedly.

Definitely a mixed blessing.
