My phone has been going really slow and I can’t read long articles because the page constantly refreshes and says there’s an error. Also I’ve noticed the last few days my phone is getting really hot. I did drop it in the toilet 1.5 years ago. So I think it never fully recovered from that. But I don’t know what’s wrong with it currently.

It’s an iPhone 7.

Did you install new system recently? Or is it due to get installed? It might be time to get a new one?
Thanks for this!

I’ll have to see if it it needs an update. Usually I get notifications for that.

Yeah I’ve had a feeling for awhile I’ve needed a new phone and I’ve been putting it off for as long as I can because they are so expensive.

My current one is from a family member. The one before that was an iPhone 6S from 2016 that I had for a few years. I don’t think they are supposed to last much longer than the warranty.

I will need another iPhone just for technical stuff. Apps that don’t work with other phones and stuff like that. Plus I don’t want to lose my pictures. If there’s no danger I can hold off. It’s not currently hot. Just a bit warm at the top where the camera is.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

Another suggestion would be the basic one of clearing your browsers 'history' cache, if you haven't already. Might help the browser to run more smoothly. Also run a virus scan and see how that goes.

I hope this is ok to say ,if not admins delete please delete.

Even Apple is suffering under the pandemic, you can now buy a brand new device with no intrest monthly payments,if your like me hanging onto your limited money with no interest payments is a win win situation . You can do it on Apple's internet store .Apple also has a premiere on the 15th or 16th of March, we know new Ipads, ear buds, new IMacs with apples own processors and Air tags are coming , and possibly the 2021 iPhones also ,so waiting a couple weeks would be good ,if the newer device has something you want you can get it , or get a nice discount on last year's models .
