Can it be fall yet??!?

Already building my fall wardrobe...but it's too hot to show them off to Mom and Dad! :'(

Fall is definitely MY SEASON. I hate being in tank tops and shorts in the summer (I do NOT have a summer bod and it's all I can wear in the heat and I feel like I'm melting) and I much prefer the layers that fall requires. Please bring on the rain, Weather Gods, I'm SO sick of summer!

The look I am going for is business casual per job at my school, but very womanly, mature and fashionable for my age. Browsed Pinterest for ideas and found some of the matching items I saw online and hope it translates well. I thought so when I was trying them on in the store. But I'm a bit of a goof when it comes to fashion (as often as I shop!). And boots! Boots are the height of fall fashion and I can ROCK boots!

But that's not the only thing I like about fall, I love the cooler weather, crunching leaves, pumpkin lattes, pumpkin cupcakes, carving pumpkins Back-to-School, Halloween, Thanksgiving, the changing of the colors in leaves, getting cozy, warm blankets...it's a meek list, but there's SOOOOOO much I love about fall!

Who's ready for fall!?

I hear you! I am ready for fall too. I am done with the heat and welcome the cooler weather and all that comes with it.

I have some cute plaid long-sleeved shirts I want to wear, LOL And Halloween jewelry!

I loves me some flannel and denim, warm socks, and light jackets that I can roll up the sleeves on. That's my look. I've also got some sweaters that I totally love how they feel and look. I don't care if they aren't in fashion at the moment, or ever, but they make me comfy.

Nope fall bums me out.

1. Everything is sooo busy and crowded. I am not a teacher but all the schools and colleges make everything difficult until about November.

2. It starts getting dark earlier. I hate it to be dark before I get home from work and almost every day in the fall is a reminder.

3. It is the pre-season for the winter. The calm before the storm. Will we have a bad winter, will we have a good one.

4. I never know how to dress. It is winter in the morning when I leave.. summer when I get out of work.

Spring is my favorite followed by summer.

I am absolutely ready for autumn weather. Every year the summer seems hotter and less bearable. I despise hot weather and I'm not a fan of summer clothing, either. And I love Halloween.

My concern about fall is that the days are shorter. In theory I really enjoy night; in reality I seem to plunge into a depression by mid-October for the past 8 years. Like, really severe depression. Last autumn I wound up IP.

So I'm looking forward to fall with a bit of caution. One super crummy thing is that our weather here stays very warm until late October, especially in the afternoon.

We shall see.

There are some things I am not crazy about when the seasons change, but I have lived in the tropics (Caracas, Venezuela in the 70s going to high school there-long story) for several years and really missed the season changes. Plus, a tropical Santa just seems wrong to me!

I love Halloween and pumpkins, candy, the cooler weather even with the layering, and am a huge horror movie fan.

@BethRags

Is that pic from a game? I play hidden object games and that house looks familiar to me.

Oh, dear. Sometimes I feel so old and out of touch. I'll bet you're correct HC; the house does look like it is from a game.If it is, I have absolutely no idea as to which game . It just looks like a good, old haunted house to me

@BethRags

Sorry!!! I didn't mean to do that. I am 62, by the way.

I googled the artist info and found this: Daniele Montella - Haunted House

She has a lot of interesting artwork.

Thank you, HC! Her art work is unusual, isn't it - distinctive. I love the look of haunted houses.

That was my look for over ten years! I love, love, love flannel and plaid. But, this fall I'm putting away the flannel and plaid and opting for more feminine styles.

I completely respect your belief. Spring means new beginnings and hope. Fall is more the beginning of the end, which I like. I do dislike how dark it gets so early, and it does make me more depressed.
Thanks for this!

Beth, as former Californian I completely understand the weather you get. My grandma called today and told me it was 98 COOLING OFF!!! While up here it was cold and overcast...so glad to be where I am now.
Thanks for this!

Been my look since I was a kid. I did have a bright colors phase in middle school, but I was also the weirdest kid, and proud of it. Growing up in a fairly rural town meant most people dressed like farmers, and were. Good on you for trying something new. I'll still wear my male things because, well, I'm male

BethRags, less sunlight makes my depression worse too. I got a natural light lamp and sit under it each day. It really helps.
Thanks for this!

Actually, I like fall as I really dislike the summer heat. But this year fall has arrived a little too early, it's been cool/cold for 2 weeks now, which is really odd for my area. Normally it stays warm into mid September.

I'm afraid the early arrival of fall will mean a long, cold winter.

Lark - Maybe I say this every summer, but this August has been so hot. No sign of cooling off, either. I can't sleep at night because of the heat that just hangs in my apartment. I am SO over it!

And those images are hilarious

Liz, thanks for your suggestion. I hit a severe depression last November 5th that landed me IP. My pdoc was urging me to get a lamp. I have decided that this year, I will.

splitimage, I understand the concern of facing a long winter (possibly). I'm going to be selfish here, so forgive me. What are your temperatures at this time? I want to pretend they're the temperatures here (instead of the 98 degrees/36 celsius that today will bring).

Oh! I wasnt sure if you were a guy or girl. Love me a man in flannel. There's a lot of feminine plaid styles, but on me I look too masculine, mostly because until recently I wore only men's clothing and more masculine colors in plaid.
