I've been wanting to find chat rooms, or even just individual people to chat with. I'm just looking for a fun place to yickety-yack, not necessarily to talk about deep seated emotions.

Any suggestions?

I'm afraid I don't have much in the way of suggestions to offer you. But I noticed you had yet to receive replies to this post. So I thought I would write one.

Are you, by any chance a member of The Haven? Of course there's a forum, here on PC, dedicated to it. (I'm not a member. I tried joining when it was first added here on PC. But I couldn't figure out how to get in.) I don't see anything about it here on PC anymore other than that the Haven forum is still here. I believe, at one point, there was a mental health section at The Haven. But, as I recall, there was also a section for general chit-chat.

If you were a senior I might suggest taking a look at the Buzz50 website. But I presume you're likely not of a certain age yet. Perhaps other PC members will yet have some useful recommendations to offer.

this website does have chat rooms. just click the chat option at the top of the page. there is also weekly chats lead by the website owner/ creator (doc John) and other various member led chats.

Im sorry but if you look in the guidelines for this site you will see that there is one that says we are not supposed to recommend other sites for the express purpose of sending psych central members to them. Sounds strange at first to read that guideline but the line in the sand is if members are constantly sending each other to other sites how is this site going to be able to stay up/ open right.

my only other suggestion is using your already existing social networking sites, that you may already use for non mental disorder things. (example you had to have an email account to register for here right, so right there you already have a chat option available that is not on a mental health website.)

my point is if you think about all the different things and sites you already visit you may be able to come up with a chat option that you know already exists and use.
