You've painted your nails, put in hot rollers, done your makeup and gotten dressed- all before 5am

You're up well before your favorite show's regularly scheduled broadcast is over.

My upstairs neighbor gets off work at around midnight and I hear them come home a little after that and I almost always have already eaten or am eating brekkie.

When you just don’t know what to do with your time.

I got up at 7 and it’s now only 11:30 and I’ve already been to the store and watched some TV and I’m trying to figure out how to spend the rest of my day.

When it's gotten so bad that you take all your medicine, including sleep meds, and lie down and it's just not happenin' for you. I tried for two hours, then gave up. I bet I've had 6 hours of real sleep in the last forty-eight hours.

@bpcyclist

I want to share something with you. I am on Elavil, 100 mg per day. I have been on it for ages and for a long time, I took all my sleep aids with it at night. Several months ago, I started having a terrible time getting to sleep. Like you, I would end up getting up and not getting enough sleep because I would finally get to sleep around 2 or 3 AM in spite of lights out around 10 or 11 PM. It was really frustrating!

I was thinking about options to get to sleep at a normal time and it occurred to me to take my Elavil earlier in the day.

I did that and now, I can't keep my eyes open, plus I don't need to take anything to get to sleep! I am sound asleep by 8ish, more or less. And I mean SOUND ASLEEP!!! It's Heaven!!

I started taking it at 3 PM but by 6:30ish I could not stay awake, LOL So, I would sleep and be wide awake around 2 AM. Well, that's a major drag, LOL So, I would take it a little later, and so on. Now I take my night med at 4:30. Last night I managed to stay awake until 7:30, more or less and slept until 5:17 AM, give or take a minute or 2. It's wonderful!

Good for you, Crafter. I have tried a few times to do that and it has actually worked once or twice. My problem now is more sort of that nothing really works anymore, no matter when I take it. The only thing I know that would work for sure is increasing my Seroquel to, like, 400 mg and I can't do that because the last time we did, my A1C shot up and it was a problem. I'm just kinda stuck right now.

As a kid in high school if I was really tired, I’d fall asleep after school and wake up 6-7 pm and think it was the next morning. Really like when I wake up on Saturday thinking I need to wake up for work, and then realize I can sleep in or make a leisurely breakfast and chill, it’s Saturday.
