My online T shared this video with me. Recently I got to see the scars on my face in a poor lighting. It really upset me. It made me more self conscious. But my T shared this warming video with me and now I have a new perspective. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. It's by Dove.

Yes, it is moving. It's amazing the difference in the way we view ourselves as compared to how others view us.

Thank you for sharing this! It's just sometimes difficult when you hear criticism from others... Since childhood until adulthood. From various people and strangers 😒 because i have a certain genetic issue... Then it hurts.
But yeah... I have to be strong

Thanks for sharing the video. I'll say, though, that I didn't really understand it. Every one of thew women was exceptionally pretty by societal standards, so....?

Yes, they are exceptionally pretty, but Dove chose women with incredibly low self esteem who *don't believe* they are beautiful; and by the end of the video they see a side-by-side comparison of how "the world views them" vs "how the woman views herself". The message is to believe in and accept your beauty inside and out, and there is also a message that beauty isn't always physical appearance. Many of those women who saw their comparison said, "Wow, this woman looks friendly and happy and someone I'd like to spend time with" which has little to do with physical beauty.

Dove presented a very relatable advertisement for women who need to be reminded to believe in your own beauty because many women suffer from low-self esteem about their appearance.

Okay, yeah...I kinda get it.

I saw a Dove ad a few years ago that portrayed women of all shapes, sizes, colors...that ad made more sense to me.

Dove is an awesome company. I got free soap to give to patients for twenty years. They were very appreciative.

My particular specialty in medicine called upon me often to address people's concerns about their appearance. It was sometimes difficult when the gap between what they saw of themselves and what reality was was great. Spent hours and hours and hours talking with people about this. Anyhow, this video really touched me--thanks very much for the link.
