I am a high school student in texas where the virus isn't too prominent but my school is canceled for a full week, possibly more if things don't get better. I am grounded for my phone for failing a class and the only way to entertain myself is my school laptop with TONS of the sites blocked. my mom is scared and doesn't like us going out in public since she works at a nursing home and if she got sick we would have literally no income since the kids are all busy with school/college and my stepdad worked in a factory making oil rig parts but he doesn't really have a job rn. so life sucks. anyone else in a similar situation? or at least tell if your life is forced to be different for a little bit until this whole coronavirus fear goes away.

I'm pretty much stuck at home too. Every day the list of things that are being closed gets longer.

I was scheduled to spend March volunteering preparing taxes for low income individuals, but my accounting regulatory body CPA ON, sent out an announcement that they were cancelling all clinics effective immediately. This is going to screw things up for a lot of people who depend on a return to get their full gov't benefits.

All my friends are practicing self-isolation and won't meet me for coffee or dinner anywhere.

So other than my one trauma group a week, which I expect may be cancelled too soon, I'm basically stuck at home. Fortunately my room mate's cat likes to cuddle with me.

I imagine video calls could be nice. I don't have friends, I have my brother which is alright I guess but I always feel babied since he's 5 years older.

My plans for the coming week were time off from work to take care of things at my Mom's house and my farm. School cancellation, etc. Not having much impact on those plans. I'm supposed to go back to work the 23rd. Going to talk to my boss about working from home.

I'm sorry you are trapped at home. Must be extra tough with limited electronics. What else do you like to do? Read? Watch TV? Maybe take up a new hobby?

I play videogames but I live with 3 other people who do who are also home. i like cooking but i make money at outdoor markets but those are closed so I don't have money and I'm fat and trying to lose weight. I watch youtube but like half the site is blocked by the cipafilter.

I'm a senior in high school and I could easily end up missing prom and if this stuff keeps up, my diploma could just be mailed to me with no ceremony. my band could end up not able to compete for my last time and i have to stay in my house, bored with my crazy mother. I am unable to make money since it relies on outdoor markets which are all canceled.

yeah, its good to sleep in but it could get not so good if this stuff keeps going.

I am, it's better to be safe than sorry.
All I do is sleep, read, check on the news, and watch movies/series.
Take care guys, and let us pray for the healing of the world.

How about you and the band do a FaceTime concert together and post it on social media. You can hold a virtual prom!

music has to be together. buffering and lag would make it out of sync and the whole reason i want to go to prom is to see the building. it is in a local historical building. its where my grandparents had their prom and i will probs never be able to go inside.

EVERYONE should be stuck at home IMO. Flattening the curve can only happen if we all participate.

Only some states are on total lock down with a curfew. While driving to the grocery store, I saw lots of people in cars together or walking outside together.
