I'm still playing World of Warcraft. I maxed out on my character creation. I had to delete some toons I don't want anymore. I think 50 is my max. I think it should be 100. I need a new account.

Hi

Does anyone know of a build a world or survival game where you have bit more choice than Animal Crossing in style of house but can have dogs? ..or a horse to ride? not too linear maybe where can move round and explore in your own time without having to follow the/any main adventure in a set way?

Not Minecraft ..as I have that and am bored with it since they removed all the abandoned villages off bedrock (haven't found one since!) and I used to enjoy travelling round doing them up!!

Looking for one (physical copy) to go with my switch OLED that can pick up when have 5-10 mins spare that doesn't require lots of extra downloads to be able to enjoy everything in it as I play offline from cartridge.

Just thought I'd ask in case anyone came up with something I hadn't looked at yet?

Thanks

No I was put off with the graphics looking a bit dated old style top down 2D. Is the gameplay good?

Was hoping there be something with a bit better graphics/scenery ..at least as good as BOTW?

What new/upcoming games are people looking forward to getting?

I did enjoy Breath of the Wild and have been waiting for BOTW2 for ages, though I hope they haven't ruined it by making it more linear and taking away the ability to explore anywhere in any order.

I heard Craftopia is meant to be very like BOTW visually but with more crafting/building. I hope it comes out as a physical copy too.
Thanks for this!

I’m looking forward to getting Pokémon Shining Pearl in February (I know it’s already out it’s just not in my budget at the moment)

I bought the Happy Home Paradise DLC for Animal Crossing New Horizons today so I’ve been having fun with that.

I have Zelda breath of the Wild but so far I’ve only gotten to the part where I received the paraglider.

The gameplay in Stardew Valley is wonderful, it’s really a great game. I wasn’t sure about the graphics either when I first got it but you get used to it pretty fast and it’s definitely worth playing. The graphics are nothing like Zelda BOTW but it has its own charm. And it’s a very different game. It was made by entirely by just one person. I would give it a chance if I were you

I just bought the game Cooking Simulator on the Switch eshop. It was on sale for $1.99, down from $19.99 so it was like 90% off

I'll see if I can find a YT video about the gameplay. I did want the Garden Paw one but it's only available digitally

I'm surprised then that you can get a physical copy of Stardew valley if its made by only one person, cos the team who made Garden Paws said they weren't doing a physical copy cos it was too expensive and they were only a small team of developers.

Can you have pets? I was looking for a farm game where can actually have a sheep dog...seems crazy there's so many farm games but none with the ability to train your dog to round up the sheep!!

I've seen a few other farm one's coming out so will have to see whether any are released as physical copy.
Thanks for this!

oh its better now once you're off the tutorial part.. you can now get yourself a horse and just ride round free. watch out for the Lynels though!!! (half man/half horse) as no chance of beating them early on when you've no weapons or experience!
Thanks for this!

You can have a dog or a cat but they don’t really do much. But you can have a horse and I think you can ride that. You can also have all the typical farm animals, chickens, cows, etc

I wonder if the chip shortage affecting the availability of gaming consoles is ever going to get better. I want to buy a Switch OLED eventually, maybe like a year from now. But they’re like impossible to find now due to the chip shortage. I wonder if that will be better in a year from now and if I’ll be able to get one then (it’s not in my budget at the moment)

I don't know. I think it's also affected PS5 though they always seem to be out of stock!

I think my family pre-ordered mine in October. I think they are still available (in stock) but maybe it depends what country you are in?

I have no idea, I'm in the US. I live in upstate New York. They've been difficult to find around here. It doesn't really matter because I can't afford one any time soon but I was just wondering if it will get better eventually

Won't Amazon US have them? or another online game store or catalogue place? (similar to Amazon sells everything online, no physical shop).

Maybe there'll be some in January Sales? but if there's a parts shortage then maybe they've struggled to fill pre-orders for the US so have none spare to sell?

Most places I've checked they're out of stock, and the only places that have them in stock online are third party sellers that are selling them for like $450 or above which is a $100 more than what they're supposed to sell for, because of scalpers

It won't be in my budget to buy one anyway for at least a year from now but I'm just hoping when that time comes when I have the money for one they're more widely available

They are expensive (though not as bad as PS5 and xbox I think). I wouldn't be getting one if sibling and partner hadn't offered to buy it for me so they can afford to split the cost. (They offered I didn't ask!)

What I like about Switch though is it can be both an handheld and can have it on TV if you want. Also a lot of games you don't have to be online.

I don't have a subscription and don't play online. I prefer physical copy games, then always have the option of trading them in or reselling if I don't think it's a game I'll play through again.

Sometimes I'll update a game, (free updates) but it depends if I've read about it first (or seen it) and it adds something that I'd really like. ..but hate buying a game then finding you have pay again for most of the content to get stuff that you can't progress without or it won't let you start to play without subscribing or logging in to the developers.
Thanks for this!

FFXIV Endwalker is having a rough start. The queues have thousands of people in them and then after an hour, get an error. I've only been able to get in early in the morning.

I used to love FF7 on the old playstation!..never really got into 8 but enjoyed 9 (on gamecube) and 10.

I think after that internet started to become more available. I'm sure 11 was online but I didn't have internet at the time and didn't have time to play any more due to work/study commitments.

After that I found PS games seemed to get darker (all about death and shooting/killing) or were car games neither of which I had any interest in!

I got the Sega Dreamcast..There was a great building game on that similar to MC where you went into mines to get stuff you needed to build etc but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called now!

Back to games...stranded sails looks interesting...bit of farming involved when you get shipwrecked on an island and have to survive but end goal is to get materials needed to rebuild ship ..rather than getting married and having kids! (not something I ever fancied in real life so why would I want it in a game!) Quite a few farming games have been ruled out so far cos that seems to be the end goal in them or you need to connect with other people online to trade.

Looking for something with NO Multiplayer and NO need to buy anything else or go online to be able to play/complete the game. Just 'old-school' all you need is your games console and your cartridge!

It was easier to get into FFXIV this morning. Mainly because it's a week day. I played for a while it was fun. I had to fight monsters but I don't remember my rotation. It's changed over the years.

what other games like Minecraft do people like where you're free to roam round and build what you want? ..with maybe better graphics (less blocky) that doesn't break your 'seed' when they update???
Thanks for this!

I bought Stranded Sails...found it half price online so playing this on old switch now. Getting started is fairly easy and linear so far but I think once I'm past the tutorial part of putting up first camp and finding all my shipmates and tools, then should be able to do more. It'll be ok for a couple of weeks anyway keep me going 'till xmas day!

I'll be keeping an eye out on how Craftopia develops and hope it comes out as a physical release as it looks good visually and quite a bit like BOTW but with more crafting!! BOTW2 is on my wish list too (has been for years!!!) hope that doesn't go too dark and just become all about fighting and killing, be good if you could choose to play as Zelda too!
Thanks for this!

There’s Dragon Quest Builders 2, it’s still got blocky type graphics but it looks fun
