My brother sent it to me as a joke, it wasn’t in English so I can’t post a joke but the gist was if you know all
words to a song Hafanana by Afric Simone and can sing the whole thing (without really knowing the meaning) then you are a high risk and should stay home.

Well we both could sing the whole thing so we are high risk 😂🤣 And I haven’t even heard it for like many many years

He was very popular in the 70s, not sure if he was popular in the US though.

See the link

- I have never ever heard this song before, but - it's really fun sounding. Made me smile, anyway. Thanks for posting!

He was so popular in other parts of the world that everyone knew the words lol in fact he is still performing and giving big concerts and he is 80! I even saw his recent recording of improvisation about corona. It was on you tube. He was singing about people staying home together. It was cute

Apparently Hafanana song translates something like we are the same black and white rich and poor etc
Thanks for this!

Had never heard it before. Was in my early 20's in '75.

Love the rhythm & words (even if I don't understand what they are actually saying). Very uplifting music. Thank you for sharing even if the dating of it says I am old too

Hehehe. He was not popular here in the US at all. The whole point of a joke was that he was so popular there that everyone would know words in their sleep. I believe that song is in Swahili but he sings and speaks in many other languages.

That’s him now with corona song

Thanks for this!
