You think the mosquito should be the state bird.

You know what love bugs are. Trust me there is no love lost over the dam things.

You've ever encountered a 'gator that was not behind a fence.

You park at the very far end of the parking lot in order to park in the shade.

Rain like a firehose against your windshield is normal.

You break out your winter clothes if the temp drops below 60.

You have a hurricane kit and an evacuation plan.

You think anyone who goes to the beach in winter has to be a yankee, as opposed to a dam yankee.

There are always interesting (or tragic--no tragic stories below) news stories involving gators:

TunedOut, gators are nothing to mess with. I saw the video of the one in the lady's kitchen. I'd have been completely freaked out. I used to swim in ponds and pits as a kid. Couldn't pay me enough money to get me to go in one now.

Butterfly, I think mosquitoes are the unofficial state bird.

You know "gophers" are protected! They're the state tortoise as of 2008.

wow....& here I thought they were VW's

Lol....Ky doesn't have alligators in our housed but many of us have 3+ ft long snakes that find their way in. Had one in my upstairs bathroom last week. Wouldn't have noticed it if it hadn't knocked down stuff off the sink & back of the toilet & I went in to see what caused the noise

The bridge next to your house is blocked off to pedestrians for hours due to a large alligator. We heard the commotion and saw all the lights near the bridge from our window (wondered if it was crime) then a few days later, a neighbor explained that he had gone for a jog and they wouldn't let him return over the bridge so he had to jog 5 more miles to get back home. He didn't see the gator (kept trying to cross, couldn't figure out why they wouldn't let him) until they said, "Don't you see it? It is right there."
