Happy Wednesday all!

I'm a knitting ADDICT-it's a healthy obsession! I make scarves, baby blankets and am working on socks and easy clothing.

Just asking if anyone else does this-I find it very therapeutic and beneficial-it's taught me a TON about patience-especially when I have to start something over.

Last week I started pink baby blankets for an acquaintance's month-old daughter and another woman I know who's expecting a girl in April. I wanted to use the same yarn for both and went by Hobby Lobby last night to get some more but, being on such a good sale, there wasn't any pink there! Hey, it's normally $3.44 and was on sale for $1.99!

They said they wouldn't have any more in until 1/18 so I'm going to make the other one of a different yarn.

Good for the character as well!

Yes!!

I used to and recently picked it back up. I'm still practicing and I love it. I'm making a scarf and I want to do more. It had been so long I had to buy a how-to book to get going again.

I also crochet and I make baby blankets for anyone or donate them to Salvation Army. It's relaxing and fun.

I crocheted when I quit smoking because it ketp me and my hands busy so it was a good replacement.

My scarf that I'm making... has been ripped out and re-startred twice now. And I didn't get all the yarn I needed when I began. I bought more and it looked great, until I got it into different lighting... then discovered the yarns don't match after all!! So, went out and bought what I was absolutely positive was the same as the original one. Nope. Any other knitters out there?

Should have bought a book on how to buy yarn!

Not Yet! I crochet but I want to learn how to knit. It seems knitting is more versatile with what you can make. I have a few crochet projects I need to finish up and then I'm going to start teaching myself how to knit.

A great knitting blog is http://crazyauntpurl.com/ . I'm in the process of reading Laurie's book, Drunk, Divorced and Covered in Cat Hair.

I love knitting. I learned when I was in the hospital this summer and all of my friends and relatives got handmade scarves for Christmas. I'm going to take a class this month on how to knit mittens and one later in the spring on how to knit a lace shawl. I love it, it's so relaxing.

I started at knitting can crocheting when I was 11 or 12. I really enjoy it, but it's one of my compulsive things. When the first few projects that I start are safe, but I have a million of them not finished in the closet.

FYI there is a crochet stitch that I LOVE that is a combination of the two. The only bad thing is that I have a hard time finding the hook. It used to look like a knitting needle with a hook on the end, now they're as long as a knitting needle but there are two sides with hooks (different sizes on each end I think) and projects slip off the end now :-(
