to celebrate, I thought I'd ask what stuffed animals you have, what you had as a child, and what you want to have?

as a child, I had a talking bear called "bingo bear". I had him for years, and would do anything to protect him- even when our school hosted a teddy bear's picnic, bingo didn't come in case he got broken. eventually, his stuffing fell out, but he lasted many years!.

currently, I have a stuffed tigger, a stuffed dog, a stuffed penguin, and a cat

what I want more than anything is a stuffed lion king collection. not only because I love that movie, but because it will be cute to cuddle a little version of simba (or a big simba, depending on what I can find)

I have many a Teddy bear. I did the build a bear experience when my Grandparents died. I made a Gran and Granda Teddy bear and they resemble them. I have a few Tigger's too and also my much precious one of all. A small dog I have had for 32 years known as Doggie lol. My Mum's parents bought me him and he has been to many a destination. I even took him to France on a school exchange trip in 1999. They all sit at the top of my bed on the head board.

I also made a bear from build a bear when I was 24 that I still have which is all dressed up cool. My friends and I dressed him and I named him George after the shopping centre we were in. He's sitting in the loft in a black bag with loads of other teddies

Thank you! I love this thread. I have loved & cherished my teddy bears & other stuffed animals all my life. I have a great big teddy bear in my living room, very sweet & happy, looking out the window all the time. Also a little teddy bear sitting a few feet away. Several feet from them is a precious puppy dog that means so much to me for wonderful reasons. I have lots & lots of adorable stuffed animals. A fox, a river otter, a panda bear, an Audubon warbler, a mommy teddy bear & her baby that I've had since childhood sitting on the shelf in my closet, & a stuffed cloth teddy bear & little horse that I made. I'm so glad to know I'm not the only adult who still treasures these cute loved ones.

My wife & I have many stuffed animal dog toys. (Those probably don't count though?) I have one little teddy bear stuffed dog toy in my bathroom. It belonged to our Schnoodle who passed away recently. I have it in my bathroom partially as a memory of him. But I also have it because I have a secret craving for a real teddy bear. I haven't been able to bring myself to tell my wife I want it & actually go buy it though. I've always had some secret ABDL-type inclinations (although I only recently became aware of the ABDL community.) And, as I age, I'm finding that more-&-more I am drawn toward age regression. Having a real teddy bear of my own would be a sweet step in that direction.

happy teddybear day

I had a couple of teddy bears that sat on my book shelf. My black cat started playing with one when he was a kitten. It's his now. As he's gotten older, he doesn't play with it much. But I remember all the joy he got out of it. When I had my accident 6 years ago, my sister gave me a big teddy bear. I still have that one. I remember being a child and having lots of stuffed animals. At the moment I have a fluffy robotic dog. He sits on the sofa.

I am planning to go back and make another just so I can do it (kiss the heart)

it's about 40 minits away from where I am, so don't know when I'll have a need to be in that area next

I slept with a baby blanket until I was in middle school, then I went to the Disney Store and bought Simba and Nala. Over the years I must have gone through dozens of stuffed animals. Sometimes I like to treat myself to a stuffed animal from Goodwill. They have good stuffed animals. I've always wanted a platypus and last time I went they had a big one with a little baby attached to it. It is sooooo cute and good to snuggle with. My favorite stuffed animal is my giant lion. Not the best to cuddle with but I've always wanted a lion. His name is Aslan.

We weren't allowed to have stuffed animals when we were very young, because my mother felt they were un-hygienic, and would cause health problems. (Yes, mom was a bit of a clean freak, and also pretty controlling.)

But I did get my own stuffed animals later when I had my own babysitting money. And it seemed boyfriends always gave me stuffed animals, as gifts.

I have a large-ish polar bear that I named Eric, three bunnies, a koala named Mike, and an Opus, the penguin from Bloom County (a comic strip from the 80's). All my cuddlies make me happy to see them. They hold happy memories.

happy teddybear day

Growing up i had a light purple teddy. I loved him so much until we adopted two tiny kittens that were left behind a church. I named the furry tuxedo cat after him - Beary NicColes, and his sister we named KitKat. Only a few of my stuffed animals 🧸 survived the constant cuddles and later moving here and there. Since moving out of my parents house, my mom replaced them with a oversized purple bear that I found atop my bed when I returned home from school. He now sits on the top shelf in my closet.

"The Teddy Bears Picnic"
by Henry Hall (1932)

If you go down in the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise
If you go down in the woods today, you'd better go in disguise
For every bear that ever there was will gather there for certain
Because today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic

Every teddy bear who's been good is sure of a treat today
There's lots of marvelous things to eat and wonderful games to play
Beneath the trees where nobody sees they'll hide and seek as long as they please

That's the way the teddy bears have their picnic

Picnic time for teddy bears
The little teddy bears are having a lovely time today
Watch them, catch them unawares and see them picnic on their holiday

See them gaily gad about
They love to play and shout
They never have any cares
At six o'clock their mummies and daddies will take them back home to bed
Because they're tired little teddy bears

If you go down in the woods today, you better not go alone
It's lovely down in the woods today, but safer to stay at home
For every bear that ever there was will gather there for certain
Because today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic

( Lyrics for The Teddy Bears Picnic by Henry Hall - Songfacts )
