A 1st grade school teacher had twenty-six students in her class. She presented each child in her classroom the 1st half of a well-known proverb and asked them to come up with the remainder of the proverb. It's hard to believe these were actually done by first graders. Their insight may surprise you. While reading, keep in mind that these are first-graders, 6-year-olds, because the last one is a classic!

Boy, I agree about the new math. I used to teach math, and I helped my 6 year old niece with her math homework. They were using something called "tallies".

She told me the next day, "Aunt Jan, you made me get and "N" on my math paper!" It's really bad when you can no longer do first grade math! Something Funny Something Funny Something Funny

My kids are in 3rd and 6th grade. I can get the correct answer, but the teacher needs them to show their work, and I can't explain the "old" way because it's wrong!

Something Funny Something Funny We started to list our favourites, but there were too many Something Funny Something Funny Something Funny Something Funny Something Funny

& what on earth are "tallies", we taught maths too Something Funny sounds like we won't be much good as a maths coach anymore, unless Australia has resisted this "new maths". Something Funny

is a tally just a new way to
say adding up a list of things.....
Maybe its an English UK way to say add up?

Yes it looks like some of those students
are using the right side of the brain.(Like me)

when I was 13 I wrote a poem that got
published in the right to life magazine and
Ive seen it many times since.

Did you know that Danielle Steele's son
could talk whilst still in the pram.
He would say "I'm incredible"
Its a good read about her son and his Bipolar.
