Here I am starting my usual thread
This has been a difficult year, for my family and also in general...but I'm glad to have found a job for a year, in a school that I like and that is easy to reach. I'm glad to have my parents near me. I'm glad that despite the virus thing we can do more things than last year.
And you?

With all my losses this year, my adopted doggie & my horse, & all the legal crap I am still dealing with out of state, a friend asked me if I wanted a job doing night foal watch at the TB farm 2 minutes down the road from my own farm. Thought what a great
learning experience & working with horses & foals what better position could I have. She recommended me, interview went well & I start work for 4/5 months until all the mares have foaled. They have professionals at every birth, I just watch & move the mare into the foaling stall. Get to feed & play with the foals after they are born. I so miss my horse but this will be a wonderful way to be around horses while I am paying off all my vet bills & maybe work into other work if things go well

I am exceedingly grateful to the experts who managed not only to develop but to roll-out two+ rounds of vaccines in such a speedy and efficient way.

I am grateful to any healthcare/ frontline worker who remains in their job. It is so incredibly difficult to go through what they are going through.

I am grateful to anyone who is responsible for keeping supply chains operating as smoothly as possible. Sure, there have been problems---but overall, it's been very well-managed.

And lastly, I am grateful to have a warm and safe home I can shelter in, and my cats to keep me laughing, and calm.

Glad to have survived the first year of Covid without getting it and immediate close family haven't been ill.

My dog is still fit and strong which I'm grateful for as our village vets closed at one point so vets could go help out on the front lines at the peak of the first wave when we had no idea what we dealing with and before vaccines were available!

That I 'm mobile enough to manage dress and feed myself as many are stuck in hospital or care homes because there aren't enough home carers and our social care system is falling apart.

That we have a roof over our heads, food and warmth (clothes, heating) which many.. even in our so called 'first world' countries don't have!

I am thankful for having wisdom and awareness. It has been one of those years but to tell the truth I am in a better place than many others. No risk of loosing my mind neither as I am better grounded compared to 10 years ago.
