I don't think my tv can download anything with just the rabbit ears antenna. And I think I need a computer or cable to stream, don't I?

if you can access the Internet on your phone, you might be able to stream with it. But not sure if you have wifi at home and you might not have enough data.

Right, my phone is the flip 2 cell phone with the little screen, & not enough data to watch youtube videos. I look forward to getting a computer later on so I can do that.

Very little memory, but you can store everything on the cloud. You only really need a lot of memory if you play video games. I don't.

Tonight the Paralympic Games are on at 7 pm my time for an hour. I’m central USA time

Yeah you probably need a computer / laptop to watch peacock. That's how I was using it.

I thought Peacock is a nickname for NBC. And that’s been around since I was a kid and always free. I know Peacock is their logo but didn’t know you have to pay for it. More and more shows I want to see aren’t on regular tv anymore.

Here in the Southwest it’s on USA. I think NBC owns it but not sure. They always team up during the Olympics. Maybe it’s called a sister network? I swear I’m not informed on all this, much simpler in the old days.

USA usually covers sports that don’t get high viewership, such as biathlon or quarterfinals of hockey. It’s usually on late night, early morning or midday. I’m referring to the regular Olympics.

That as opposed to prime time, like 8-11 pm.

I don’t know know about technology but know people watch on their phones. But you need a LOT of data and WiFi also gives it a signal boost. Cellular is not strong enough, even with 4 bars.

It will also drain the battery super fast and quality of video may not be the best.

I don’t have anything except this phone which I didn’t have till last year. I can’t afford WiFi also. Wish they made these batteries more robust.

If you get something with little memory on the computer then you depend on the cloud for storage. And that means WiFi unless you get a desktop, if they still make them.

I found out the above from a tech savvy friend. I don’t know squat about it lol.

Thank you for the information, @nonightowl. I hope to find a laptop that can also use regular electricity from the wall. And I hope I can find DVDs of the winter olympics so I can enjoy the events on my tv with no commercials, & pause them, & replay my favorite parts.

I found out Peacock is a streaming service from NBC! I’m so out of the loop on these things….

And USA is owned by NBC like I thought. I hate that everyone wants you to watch on a streaming service. And phones have such tiny screens.

Only advantage to a laptop is it’s portable but you need a device to give you WiFi. Right now I have a ChromeBook from the library. So WiFi temporarily, though it’s due soon. I get in the queue again when I return.

Yeah the amount of commercials is unbearable on Olympics and everything actually. I also like to fast forward past them or any sport I don’t like. Or something I don’t want to see.

You’re right it’s great to watch stuff again or in slow motion! If you watch something already slowed and you slow it more, you can really see what’s going on! Especially in snowboarding or aerials!

Guess what? I got to see winter paralympics today on regular NBC! One hour of snowboarding, slalom skiing, & biathlon. I caught it by accident because I watched the ending of the previous program. I couldn't believe it. It was really wonderful, so inspirational.

I was just going to post that, Breaking Dawn.I noticed it was on NBC, the regular “free” channel, not the streaming channel! It was also on USA a bit or still is.

Another thing about the Olympics or Paralympics, the athletes aren’t just coping with the pressure of competing but dealing with jet lag, time changes, and cultural differences! Unless one is in one’s home country of course.

I have enough trouble with DST change!! Wish we’d get rid of this useless and unhealthy ritual.
