My old laptop died on Thurs, It was 5 years old, which is pretty good for a laptop, but I'd been hoping to get another year out of it.

I was planning on buying a refurbished computer since that would be cheaper, but when I got to the computer store, and told the sales clerk my budget, he said they had a few new computers on sale that would fit in my budget.

So I wound up getting a new ASUS laptop, and I've had good experiences with that brand in the past, The store transferred all my files over to the new laptop, so I picked it up on Sat., and spent the rest of the day, downloading all the software I use.

I love the new computer, it's faster, the video quality is incredibly better and it has more memory, So I'm very happy with it.

But those 2 days without a computer drove me nuts, trying to do everything on my phone. It just showed me how incredibly reliant I am on technology, given the number of on-line meetings that I do.

Congrats on the new computer! I don't like doing everything with my phone either. I type a lot slower on it.
Thanks for this!

Very pleased to hear that you got a good deal for a brand new computer. Asus is a very good make.

I replaced my old laptop just before Christmas but have kept it as a back-up. New one is Lenovo. Can't believe how slim/lightweight it is. Much quicker too. Put all my files into Cloud so easy to upload. Only thing missing was Adobe, which was easy to install. Another new feature is battery not fully charging. Apparently it's to save battery's whole life. Thought I'd got a duff one!!

Can't remember exactly when I bought my old Compaq, but reckon it's around 15 years old. Only problem, apart from being slow, was letters and numbers had come off most of the keys (my fingernails!). Also had to replace the power cable, so bought a refurb on EBay!
Thanks for this!
