It's been an interesting few days here in the UK, especially today when we experienced very high winds.

Luckily, due to some preparation on my part, my property has survived. Why do some people not think ahead and place their wheelie bins in a sheltered spot so that they're not spilling their contents over the gardens. More important, ensuring they don't blow into the road.

Special mention to all the emergency workers who've earned their pay today. Likewise, all the commercial pilots who's training has ensured that everyone's arrived safely at airports. As my two pilot friends would say, "it's all in a day's work".

I saw footage of a plane carrying Manchester United that wasn't able to land due to the high wind. That was scary! It definitely looks like one big mess there. Stay safe.
Thanks for this!

Yes, stay safe and indoors. We have footage of this now in Australia. So many huge trees down and thousands without power.
Thanks for this!

Yes, the damage is bad in some parts of the UK.

We now have Storm Franklin. High winds, rain. Supposed to be 11c but probably doesn't feel like it (not that I'm venturing out).

In other words, more of the same!

I have a friend in Prestatyn. They are getting hammered by storms.

It's beautifully sunny today, although still a bit breezy. We have snow flurries yesterday afternoon.

Still some people without power.

Daffodils now in bloom in garden; early this year. Protected them from gales with a broken terracotta plant pot. Just the right height/shape.

Now, should I put rotary clothes dryer back into lawn??

I am glad your daffodils are safe. Hope everyone gets power back soon. We dealt with that in Texas last year. No fun.
