Monday morning when I went out to feed the horses Kieran did not come up when I called. He is usually the first one in. Off I went looking for him. He was in the neighbor's pasture. Yes, the ones who started the fire. My reaction was wtf! how the heck did he get over there?

Got a halter and started the long hike back to where he was. Walked down the fence line looking for where he might have gone through. I about blew a gasket when I discovered that when one of the neighbors brought his tractor over to fight the fire he cut the $@/^÷!!! fence and left it on the ground! When I got to Kieran he had a huge gash on his face. If the ahole who cut the fence had been there I probably would have gone redneck crazy on him. As it was I got Kieran to the barn, cleaned him up and medicated him. No point in calling the vet. The cut was old enough he would not have been able to stitch it.

Yesterday I talked to the people next door. I'd cooled off enough that I could act like a reasonable, sane person and not scream at them. I made it clear that the fence is to be fixed immediately! Meanwhile I moved the horses to a smaller fenced off part of the pasture so they don't get tangled up in the mess the idiot left. It's a major pain in the butt though. Normally I can just prop stall doors open and let the boys come and go. Now I have to lead them each to the new area. Plus the area where they are is at the front of the property. Not good for two reasons 1) anybody driving by can see them. We've had a problem with low life scum killing and butchering horse here. 2) I have drive through the pasture where they are turned out. They try to charge through the gate when I open it to drive through.

It passes me off that Kieran got hurt and I have to do extra work because someone else is an idiot!

Whoa I’m pissed offed along with you. They had plenty of time to fix that since the fire! Ooh if I had a horse that had gotten hurt I’d be flaming I’d be so hot under the collar.

Wow. You've got some real jerks there, Liz. You get extra points for not ripping their damn fool heads off.

I'm glad the horse is alright.
