I've entertained my parents, but this is the first time I'm having a guest over in my new home.

I'm so nervous, excited but nervous. She is my neighbor, and I'm sure she'll love my place, but I've got butterflies.

I spent two hours cleaning today, and I just recently cleaned...sprayed all the counters and cabinets with a nice smelling cleaner, cleaned the bathroom, the mirrors and glass, swept the floors, put laundry away, super duper neatly made the bed...I worked really hard on making the house look and smell amazing.

Now, the guest who is coming over is super sweet and laid back and is bringing her little dog, and I spend a lot of time talking with her and we both enjoy each other's company...I spent a couple evenings on her porch and inside her house, so I shouldn't be nervous at all. She would most likely be gushing over how nice my place is and how well I decorated it.

In fact, she said this a couple times, and the other day at work a neighbor I've never met told me as I checked her out that she has lived there for twenty years and have never seen a nicer yard than what I have done. I have multiple pots and planters placed around my yard and my windowsill is decorated with plants and knick knacks, and she and my guest both told me no one has ever done anything with their yard or windowsill in all the time they've lived there...one lady said I bring so much joy and happiness and beauty in the world with my plants and knick knacks, and my guest said the same thing and both said I should be proud of my work.

So I know I shouldn't be nervous...it's not the guest making me nervous, she'll really love my house, it's entertaining for someone for the first time and showing her my house for the first time.

Wish me luck!

She was absolutely in love with the house and we had a great time! She helped me use the oven for the first time and everything went smoothly, no hiccups, and she helped me cook and we made the most amazing mac n cheese.

I look back on the times I had guests in my home with great pride. I know they always enjoyed themselves, and that I did my parents proud in being a thoughtful and generous hostess.

Those were in the old days, before I became ill; so I give you extra credit for doing a fantastic job, LL. It sounds like everything was lovely.
