There was a huge spider in here tonight, literally massive

Tigger was following him around, talking to him, he decided to hide in my shoe to escape from her, I took my shoe outside and let him escape cause i think he was worried Tigger was going to hurt him

disclaimer: i'm only guessing the spider was a him, might of been a her, idk

i dont know how to tell the gender of a spider

I think female spiders are larger and more deadly (or is that just black widows)?

Good you let the spider outside. I don't like to kill them.

There was one in my garage this morning. I thought it was a mouse at first. The thing was huge. I think it was a brown recluse. That was at 3AM and I still am scared to go back in there. My mom thinks I'm being silly but she didn't see the size of it.

I'm not scared of spiders, but my brother is. I had to take them out of the house when he found them.

Ah, lol....you would love my farm. I have about 6 acres of woods in back of my house. Huge wolf spiders.....leg span about the size of the palm of my hand. They love my basement & my garage. I leave them alone outside but when they come into my house....NO!!!! They get bug sprayed in my territory.

No snakes? Lol....one morning I heard crashing in my UPSTAIRS bathroom. Went in & saw a black tail. Looked around the other side of the toilet & there was the rest of the 4ft rat snake. How it got into my house let alone upstairs bathroom is beyond me. Had to find a container big enough to remove it safely so I told it to stay put. Found a container & a long riding crop to encourage it into the container....took it out to my woods with orders never to come back inside my house....4 years & no snake inside except a few little ones. The joys of living rural

Ain't that the truth Eskie! Living in the country means adapting the the wildlife.

Willowtigger, it was probably a a wolfspider in your house. They can have a HUGE legspan. They are harmless to humans, unless you hurt yourself when startled by their size. I actually let them stay in the house if they get inside because they eat the bugs I don't want in the house. Thank you for safely taking him/her outside.

Normally I leave spiders alone in the house, I didn't this time cause the spider was afraid of Tigger

Snakes don't kill people unless you come across a huge python in the jungle which I am sure you aren't planning on doing. Even rattle snakes don't strike unless they feel threatened. Snakes are great cause they keep the rodent population under control.
It really helps when our belief system is based on reality.....helps control our fears

Bites hurt but don't kill from boas. I have handled them.....never got bit but learn how to handle so don't get bit if there is the actual need to handle

I would stay away from boa constrictors. Humans aren't really the natural prey of any animal. But some will attack if they feel threatened.

Most animals & even bugs like bees will sting if they feel threatened. Lol....my neighbor had hives of bees on his property. They were using heavy equipment & the operators had them remove the hives because they were getting stung because the vibrations the heavy equipment makes disturbed the bees

I was stung by a bee once. Luckily I am not allergic. So it wasn't bad.

My little brother accidentally disturbed a hive when he was 3 or 4 and got his face stung up and swollen. But he recovered in a few days.

I thought of this thread last night. I picked up an empty feed bag to use as a trash bag. A good sized wolf spider came running out. Bag went one way and I went another.

Mountaindewed, if you saw a large spider it was not a brown recluse. They are not big.
Thanks for this!

I am still using empty feed bags from in the garage for trash & I lost Izzy last Sept. I still have a huge pile of them. Best trash bags.....best place for spiders to hide also.

Yep, brown recluse are smaller size spiders & not all that obvious to see like black widows are
