I've been following it on HLN. Heard was accused of having BPD with trouble regulating her emotions. I thought she's done very well throughout the trial.

I think they're both guilty. Depp decided to dance with the devil when he used drugs and I think it's bitten him.

Whoever said that should be forced to back it up with professional mental health qualifications and if they cannot they should be forced to take it back and apologise.

It will only cause further stigmas for those of us with actual diagnoses.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. Neither one of them have completely clean hands in this situation.

My observations while watching the proceedings were that Ms. Heard seems a little bit too calculated in her body language. She appears to be planning every little quiver in her voice, every wince, every twitch, as she is acting the role of a traumatized domestic violence survivor. Notice how, every time the attorneys asked her a question, she would look at the jury while answering. If my daughter asks me a question, I'm not going to look at my husband while answering, or vice versa. I cannot think of any situation in which I would be looking at one person while speaking to another. She seemed to be checking to see if the jury was buying her performance. Also, the part where she full-body jumped because Mr. Depp came within somewhat close proximity to her--that looked staged. Her reaction was just a split second too delayed to look like a genuine reflex. It's as if she wanted people to think she was just so terrified of him, so she would win the case.

Bottom line is, both abused the other. Neither is innocent. And my concern is, thanks to her low (in my opinion) level of credibility, people will now be even less likely to believe the woman.

Must admit I was addicted to watching the trial and even though Amber Heard was lying there is no need for all the hate she has been receiving. She obviously has a lot of problems.

They both have so many problems, neither is innocent but the trial wasn't about the abuse it was about the defamation & whether it actually was caused by the article

What WovenGalaxy said, every word of it.

Plus, it's alarming to still see that women's concerns are still vulnerable to being swept under the carpet, or outright ignored or reviled, so quickly. It feels like a step backward. And all because of one man's outsized ego...which has historically been a dangerous thing.

Worrisome.

Well, the person who said it was not a board-certified psychiatrist or psychologist. But the media and the public have eaten it up with a frenzy. The double standard of mental health forgiveness has also been ridiculous. Johnny supposedly has childhood trauma and addiction and gets sympathy. Amber has been alleged to have a personality disorder (by someone not qualified to diagnose it) and has been vilified and demonized and death threats, with zero sympathy.

I'm not saying or weighing in on who has what, but that's what's been said publicly, and the fact that one person gets sympathy for mental health issues and the other is a villain because of them (and of course one is a man and the other is a woman) is essentially the essence of the disparity women have always faced.

Wth was she thinking hooking up with him in the first place? 30 year age difference? I mean yeah it worked for harrison ford and watsername, but johnny depp is no harrison ford. Plus she mutilated him. The first time my h threw something at me, it was o-ver.
