Willow these tests don’t mean much

I got 6 out of 8 right and the ones I got wrong were chemistry questions. Air composition and combustion. Science isn’t my thing. I tried to guess those.

Well I think people back in those times must have been pretty dang smart! Certainly not stuff I learned in school. Although I wonder how much of that stuff was useful. In high school I took a bunch of agriculture classes. At least I could grow stuff if I had to.

I think majority of these type of tests are measuring how well you can take tests, not exact knowledge of things. Can you use logic and make educated guesses on which of the options can’t possibly be correct kind of thing. There’s no way everyone can know everything.

You aren’t stupid. You use plenty of logic on this site. And there’s a reason for some tests. If you don’t need or want one, then I recommend not taking it. It’s not like they made you take the test

5 out of 8, thanks for sharing that was interesting. I definitely learned something there.

Glad I didn’t live in Victorian times - for lots of reasons- though.

I think you use good logic.

Actually the questions in this test are all factual - in this way it’s a narrow measure of intelligence. It doesn’t measure creative/original thinking for example.
Thanks for this!

Even with factual questions, you could apply some logic and common sense to narrow your answers down. Same as SAT and ACT, some people do well and don’t really know all the facts or didn’t even take classes in question

Why are you putting yourself down? What purpose does it serve?

But from your posts here I think you might be a creative thinker because you have an ability to look at things differently.

4/8, guessed on all of them, now I feel kinda dumb, too. That article was designed to make everybody feel dumb. Nobody knows those answers anymore. So, if that is what they taught Victorian kids in school back then, that’s what they knew. Whatever. We have google and can look up all the answers if we want, lol.

Willowtigger has a wealth of information that is important to Willowtigger. Victorian kids knew nothing about all the stuff we know these days.

Good point. It’s irrelevant. Music notes? I am tone deaf I don’t play music lol we have google ha isn’t it the truth.

Also I know it’s a stupid comment for laughs, but people died young at that time, they had no antibiotics. So they had to rush learning stuff before they die at 40. We have longer lives to learn things
