What a year for amazing experiences. I was in Alaska in 1999 & no Northern lights in September. That has always been on my bucket list to see. Well last night & tonight the northern lights have come to where I live.
Have any of you had a chance to see them? My farm is covered with trees so I drove a few miles away & stopped on a hill to watch. It wasn't spacticular at that time but I got to see them. Its going to be equal tonight so I am going to head back to that hill much earlier tonight. Friends from all around Ky have been sharing their amazing photos. My phone camera doesn't have a night mode on it but hopefully using "pro" mode I can get better photos than last night. Two things on my bucket list in one year.....got to enjoy the total eclipse I made a 400 mile trip to se0e & the northen lights. __________________ Leo's favorite place was in the passenger seat of my truck. I didn’t see them as it was late when they showed here and I had to sleep, same tonight, but my friend’s husband got a good shot on his phone. They were more visible than they’ve ever been before here, quite something.

I missed them yesterday because I honestly didn't know - but then saw all the pictures online late last night. So grateful that they are going to be there again tonight, so maybe I'll get a glimpse of it. Great that you got a spectacular view! It's amazing that we get to see these once of a lifetime events all in the same year. Glad I can witness it.

It’s very cloudy by us so I am not sure we would see anything. We have friends who saw it last night further north.

It was cloudy today but it is clearing up now. Will see what we can see tonight. Interesting cause many said it was just a faint pink or green glow in the sky but when they took the photo it turned out amazing. We will see. My photos from last night were NOT impressive but you could see it

My colleague took some good photos with her phone on Friday night but she said to the eye it had only looked like white wisps, the colour came through in the photos. Last night it was too misty here so not as much to see, colours but much fainter.

Last night the color never got down as far as I was. I think my older phone (2 years old) didn't have the capability of picking up the colors because while others were getting awesome shots on Friday, mine were just kind of orangish. I am happy I was at least able to get what I could.

I could not see them at my place, unfortunately. But people a few streets up could. It's so weird. Saw some gorgeous photos on facebook.

From my understanding they were hard to see just looking. Took night filter & some editing of settings to get them to show their natural beauty in photos. My phone camers didn't have a night filter like some newer phones have now
