Whats the big deal? They just started talking about it all of a sudden in the last hour. They are like communications may be down. Unplug your toasters. Northern lights could be visible.

Has anyone else heard about this?

Northern lights would be awesome - the 'Aurora Borealis'. Didn't know people put warnings out.

Wow, that'll be interesting Dewed. Be interesting to see if the solar storm will effect the power grid and electronic systems in any significant way. I think they have caused major blackouts in the past, yes.

That's what all the fuss is about.Solar flares might mess with electricity and electronics. I think authorities are wise to warn people ahead of time so they don't get spooked if power goes out.

Well Dewed, going by the world news this morning the solar storm with it's resulting auroras did light up the skies, even here in the southern hemisphere but not as pronounced in my region. But me, with my very sharp eyes and armed with scientific knowledge (ha) could see it as a red haze in clear night sky. Very haunting. I knew what it was because I seen before in the 90's.👍
