Solar eclipse

The eclipse was so cool!!! We only saw 96% totality but it was neat! It got sum outside like evening time and even felt cooler!

Glad you caught it. I didn't get any glasses but several at work did and headed out to catch it. I thought it would get darker here than it did.

I live in Kentucky. The footage from Hopkinsville where they got totality was SO cool!

I saw 92% through glasses and it was amazing how small the crescent was as it hardly dimmed at all. It was like the sun on an unseasonably warm sunny winter day. Plenty bright but yo could feel it wasn't nearly as intense. One of my kids went with a friend into totality and I am jealous seeing his pictures.

I was unfortunate in that I had to take my dog to the vet during the height of occlusion. On the other hand, I was fortunate because there was so little traffic on the road - everybody was stopped and looking up.

It was particularly interesting for me, actually. Though my location says Napa Valley, in truth I live on a mountain on the eastern border of the valley so the sky at home was clear for viewing, while the sky in the valley was overcast. Nevertheless, there were still people out with their glasses on the valley floor when I took my dog for a walk before going into the vet's office.

My husband set up a viewing device with a piece of cardboard, a pair of binoculars, a small camera tripod, and a couple of sheets of paper. Cut a hole in the cardboard to let the light in.
My neighbor came over with a pair of sun goggles, and the neighbors across the street came over as well. It didn't get as dark as I thought it would. It seemed like early evening.

When it was done, we went for ice cream. Seemed like a cool thing to do at the time.

We got 80% here. Didn't get as dark as I'd expected it to. Mostly, I felt the eclipse - splitting headache and anxiety all morning. My cats hid and the birds outside were very active during the eclipse. My daughter and SIL are in Oregon for the eclipse and they were really impressed with it, so I'm glad for them.

About 80% here, and it was awesome. I watched it from a pool, and the radio was playing Dark Side of the Moon. In 2024, I plan to book a hotel in Niagara Falls!!

Was supposed to be 85% here but clouds rolled in and obstructed the view, the darkness could have been from the storms.

I missed it. I was taking a nap. My husband told me it didn't get very dark though. I'm not sure how much of it was visible here. Overall I'm really disappointed with it. I would have liked to see it.

I got about 16 seconds of 83% .. Had the clouds not cleared for that 16 seconds it would have been a bust in my part of Florida.

It was 85% here & the sun peaked out for a while. I viewed holding a strainer with circular holes in it. There were about 50 images of the moon & sun on the piece of white paper I put on the ground. While it didn't really get dark, the light outside did look muted.

Those of you who saw 100% occlusion were very, very lucky. I got goosebumps just watching the coverage on TV; the reactions of those viewing it were amazing...with some brought to tears.

The eclipse was AMAZING! I live in Oregon right in the path of totality, and it was so cool to see the corona and "diamond ring" effect. The street lights came on briefly and I could even see stars. People shouted and cheered at the moment of totality...it was a neat experience that I'll never forget.

Just got home from viewing the eclipse yesterday. We were in totality in Joanne SC. One of the if not the most amazing thing I have ever seen. It was well worth the drive from Florida.
