I had never heard of them until today (when I read your post) - then I looked them up online and they sounded good.

Is Matches an Emo type of band? - or half Emo and half some thing else?

Emo is known for it's emotional state of mind... instead of the anger hard-core way of expressing one-self.
Emo (short for emotional) has taken a new tole of expressing oneself.

Music comes with strong emotions and feelings... an alternative way to let your feelings be known.

Emo is a particular way of dress...
It includes tighter fitting pants and waist length shirts to the dyed-black or dark hair with it covering your face.
The longer hair is in front with the spikes in the back is also a more Emo- or emotional look to dressing.

EMO is a state of mind
EMO is a look - the dress & hair.
EMO is music with strong emotions
EMO is being comfortable with oneself.

EMO is a more direct way of altering the feelings one has without words - pure emotions.

Here is a video from YourTube called "What is Emo"

I like this version...... for it definition if given straight from regular Emo people on the streets.

I listen to a few songs off YourTybe...... Salty Eyes was one of them.

I asked about the Emo Style for they kind of had that look in one or two of their video's - and yet they also seemed to have another style mixed in with another - a two in one band.
