Dorodango!
Found this Japanese art a few days ago. Seems to me to be a fun thing for those who like to do things with their hands while relaxing...during music/tv etc. You get a (hopefully) amazing burnished sphere when you're done. Worth a peek if sounds interesting. There's much more info online. Just Google dorodongo! I hope to try this soon. Part of my back yard has a streak of natural clay running through it. There are many tutorials. here are a few: This gal seems to be a pro... This guy not so much but entertaining... and this gal is informative... Looks like something a beginner could find success with. No pricey equipment or supplies needed either. Unless you get really good with it and want to find different muds and sands to experiment with. Anyway...that's the dorodango. I want one! |

This dorodango-making looks like it should be fairly easy to get into doesn't it! Just need to find basic materials which shouldn't be too hard. Basic attempts can be made pretty easily I think and should provide enough of a decent result to be encouraging. LL! |
