In my main job I work until midnight, then when I get home I'm usually to wound up to sleep so I wind up watching TV until about 2 am then fall asleep. Then I normally wake up around 10 or 11. Not today. My phone rang which woke me up and I looked at my watch and it said 5 and I wondered who the heck was calling me at 5 am. No such like, it was my manager asking me about why I hadn't shown up for my second job from 1 - 4 pm and I was like "Wait, what time is it?" Turns out I'd slept solidly for 18 hours. Obviously I was very apologetic, but it was so embarrassing. I haven't slept through a shift since I stopped drinking.

Can't believe I slept for 18 hours straight

Wow how unusual I’m sorry to hear it caused chaos with you not turning up to your other shift. Maybe you’ll have to sleep with an alarm on next time!
Thanks for this!

I’d say your body needed it. You clearly needed rest. Unless it happens often I’d not worry about it.
Thanks for this!

That must have been quite a shock! It sounds like your body really needed the rest, though sleeping through a shift is definitely frustrating. At least your manager called to check in rather than assuming the worst. Hopefully, they understood it wasn’t intentional. Maybe setting multiple alarms can help prevent this in the future!

Bro I usually work 3pm to 1 am and I will literally sleep up until 1 or 2 hours before my next shift. I also work 5am to 3 pm so my sleep scheduled is a wreck but man I need at least 10 hours og llf sleep and i still don't wanna get outta bed 😴 🙃
