Yesterday was my first day to volunteer for this year preparing income taxes for low income people. It's something I've been doing every year since 2018 ane kind of weirdly I enjoy it. I'm part of a national program that Revenue Canada runs in conjunction with the main accounting body in Canada.
It went pretty well with the exception of a few minor glitches and some major problems with Revenue Canada's site, but I got through it. And the clinic I volunteered with yesterday believes in taking card of their volunteers. one of the team leads brought in home made date squares and the clinic arranged a late lunch for us at the end of the day. It was tandoori chicken, rice and vegetables, which was a nice added bonus.

We used to have that. But they canceled it during covid and never revived it.

@Nammu That sucks that it was killed due to covid Here, when Covid hit, they just cancelled all in person clinics and moved us to virtual appointments. It was a bit rocky at the start as we all learned to do appointments over the phone or zoom but it worked out. Now clients have the option of in-person or virtual clinics. I'm volunteering doing both. The clinic I was in on Sat. is an in-person and the other one I volunteer with is strictly virtual.
