Is anyone else getting annoyed with hearing about those creepy troll doll things?

They are a bit hit among the Gen Z crowd. Its similar to Beanie Babies. Thiefs are going into stores and stealling tons of them to resell.

Its been big on the news

I thought they looked very like chickaboo if anyone is old enough to remember, to be fair I think my chickaboo back in the early 80s was a rip off version.

I had to google chickaboo. I knew them as monchichi. I never had the monchichi doll, but I did have a monchichi paper doll playbook that our cat at the time backed up to and sprayed with urine.
Thanks for this!

That’s interesting, I wonder if chickaboo was a UK name. I think mine was a rip off copy anyhow but I still liked it. These crazes are nothing new.

It’s a fad, like the fidget spinner craze some years ago, but hasn’t this labubu fad already passed? Or is it just starting in US? In my region, the craze was around June to August last year and ended even before Christmas.

In a book I read back in the 1940s it was a fad to swallow live Goldfish and see how many people can fit in VW beetle.

I googled labubu dolls to see what it's all about. They don't crank my tractor, but I've never been into fads.

As for people saying they are "evil" I suspect that a part the older generation made this claim about younger generation's fads dating back to caveman days.

It reminds me of those Stanley cups. I remember seeing videos of people waiting in long lines just to purchase those cups. Sometimes people would fight each other over a cup. I believe they would fight each other for a labubu doll. Soon there will be a new trend and the labubus will be forgotten.
Thanks for this!
