I'm not a big country fan, but when I'm wound up, the Dixie Chicks song "Godspeed" brings my blood pressure down and makes everything a bit more doable.

There are so many.

But lately, "The Passenger" by Iggy Pop. I know that's an odd choice but the sentiment speaks to me and I relate to the gritty existentialism.

Henry Mancini's arrangement of the theme from "The Molly Maguires".

http://movies.nytimes.com/movie/3306...uires/overview

It has a quiet, solemn, respectful, it-was-good, it's-all-going-to-be-okay, feeling to it. I'd like it played at my funeral.

That's very sweet, but I wouldn't even know what to do with it without the kids. We actually had the CD somewhere. I just really appreciate being reminded of wonderful songs that I'd forgotten.

And I'm so happy that the kids told me about youtube, that's an awesome site!

Did anyone else see the link that Court posted and think Paul McCartney?

sincity74 - Aaron Neville will do that to me, he has the most beautiful voice but his songs make me sad and touch my heart. Oh and Sarah Mclaughlin too.

I'm loving all of the replies! Being reminded of old favorites and being introduced to new ones!
