What to wear, when meeting the Queen of England!!

What to Wear When Meeting The Queen!

Lady Gaga in a PVC red dress, with matching red eyeshadow - at first I thought they were red glasses LOL

PS -- What is PVC? Is that the material of the dress, or the designer -- ?

It's a shame about the stupid make up. Lady Gaga is drop-dead gorgeous without that stuff. Why does she always have to make herself up like the Joker and hide it?

To each her own, I guess!

I'd love to be able to hear Her Majesty's thoughts at this moment, wouldn't you? Mike

PVC is Poly Vinyl Chloride, a plastic material they make rain coats out of.

((((lynn p))))

Thank you for sharing this. It is sad that she has to make herself all up. She is pretty without all the hiding.

So would I LOL

Yes as Modelcarguy said - PVC is Poly vinyl chloride. Her dress is made of plastic. She must have been sweating bullets LOL. What happened to the days when women had to wear hats and gloves to shake the hand of the Queen? Lady Gaga definately marches to the beat of her own drum, when it comes to style.

The brilliantly composed Queen is likely wondering what happened to the days when one could scream, “Off with her head!”

"Go Go Power Rangers...Yeah!!!"

I'm sure the Queen Mum peed herself a little when they introduced GaGa as...a Lady!!!!

...Notice the Queen. Standing about five feet away from her. I think she's afraid LG will bite!!

Love her style! I think Lady GaGa is great- brilliant music, brilliant costumes. Her outfits in the Bad Romance music video are really awesome.

I agree - my daughters have her, on their Ipods and sometimes we sing to her songs in the car. I know a person has to be different to stand out and she certainly has her own style. I also give her credit for not conforming to the norm and altering her style for even the Queen, but I did get a kick out of the picture

I really tried hard not to like LG's songs. I actually didn't like the first couple songs immediately. I would change the station when they'd come on...then slowly....I started rockin' to them.

It was funny. I would really try to make myself not like them...then I finally gave up and now I have her stuff on my IPod too.

I enjoy the heck out of her music and videos. She's gotten better over the past couple of years, too.

I think that the spa in the "Bad Romance" video is actually here on Castro Street. I've heard about those places! One minute, you're chillin in your monster tank, or you're relaxing with some vodka being forcibly poured down your throat; the next minute you're being sold at a sex auction...

Typical. Been there, done that! Haven't we all?

But the song/video always puts me in a great mood and I love to turn it up and dance to it (when nobody is around...)!

No, you're not alone Tishie - I also prefer to just listen to her songs and not watch the videos. I think men and younger men in particular, like to watch her videos.

Have heard of her, never heard or seen her work.

Now, dating myself, once upon a time (which mean like 20 years ago) Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, and Robert Plant were invited to a reception at the royal palace and the Queen casually mingling, shook hands with Jimmy Page and asked him what he did for a living. He said he played guitar and she asked if he had done that for very long. The conversation continued. She had no idea who he was or what he did. the occasion had something to do with the knighting of someone who was in the music business. Needless to say, from that incident, the format of the knighting ceremonies and the celebrity visitations at the royal functions changed immensely.

Believe it or not, (and I have this on good authority) Camilla and Charles both are behind the modernization of much of the royal family. And behind that, was Diana. Phillip knew that his mother's attitudes were archaic. And the people of England saw the monarchy as archaic.

I'm neither pro or con regarding the royal family but my husband does know some of the history there and it kinda had to do with a queen mum and a mum sticking their noses in where they didn't belong and messing up a lot of people's lives. Actually, generations of lives.

Thanks very much, Tishie. I watched several of her videos and was intrigued by the art designer (obviously the same person who designed her dress for the royal doo) you rarely find an art designer who gets into the third element of texture because it is hard to demonstrate in video due to its subtleties. But vinyl has the ability to pull it off. As does satin.

Oh, and I do like her music. Her voice is very good. It has a good quality and reminds me of some other excellent singer I can't put a name to right at the moment (10 hours of jet lag does that) but in general, she's good. Her songs are good quality songs. Composition-wise and they tend to tell a good story.

She's got a good butt for a white girl.

Yeps on that!

I think it's her costume style that gets me..but then, I must admit that my dot and I reeeeeeeeeeallly get alot of laughs from how bizarre she looks.
Her Bad Romance vid....holy. What WAS she wearing?....lmao.

Have you seen her performance on the MTV awards this year? Can be disturbing, I suppose...depends on how one receives it?

Music is great, though.
