Just think -- if the USPS got into food delivery, they could make enough to stop raising rates every couple months. they totally need to try this here.
======
BANGKOK (AFP) - Food lovers in Thailand will soon be able to feast on their favourite flavours from around the country at their local post office when Thailand Post launches a new "yummy" service, an official said Monday.

Woodtipong Moleechad, vice president of Thailand Post, said the state agency was discussing the idea of a nationwide food delivery service with famous restaurants across the kingdom.

He told AFP that "Aroi Tour Thai Sang Dai Tee Praisanee" -- roughly translated as Yummy Nationwide From Your Post Office -- would launch in the next few months.

"The plan is part of creating new revenue for the post office," he told AFP. "Meanwhile, people will have the chance to taste original foods."

Woodtipong said the plan was for customers to place an order online or at a call centre, and budget airlines would fly the meals around the country.

Dishes would include northern Chiang Mai's famous spicy herb sausages and northeastern Khon Kaen's grilled chicken, Woodtipong said.

It's Usingers, babe. You can have them shipped to you direct from usingers.com, I often send them as Christmas gifts, but next time I'm there I will pick you up some. they totally need to try this here. It's a 4-hour drive, but I'm about due for a trip both to see friends and stock up on stuff I can't get here, like decent Italian food. they totally need to try this here.

Actually the grocery store here home-makes really good brats, including some with the hometown beer. they totally need to try this here. Wanna try those too? they totally need to try this here.

I don't trust the USPS with my mail/packages so I'm sure as heck not going to trust them with my food. But don't we have take-out taxi and other companies who deliver. . . and it's hot. . . and at the right time? I can't see the USPS delivering at dinnertime. I am old enough to remember when they use to deliver twice a day but that was a l-o-o-o-n-g time ago?

You clearly live in a large city. they totally need to try this here. Nobody delivers here except for Domino's! Anything else, you have to go out and get yourself. Preferably before 8 pm when everything shuts down (3 pm on Saturdays, not open at all on Sundays!).

I don't remember 2x/day delivery, sorry. If they brought it back, it might justify raising stamp prices every other month. they totally need to try this here.

You all can get a franchise and make money :-)

http://www.takeouttaxi.com/

Assuming you live somewhere big enough to have a couple restaurants they totally need to try this here.
