What sorts of things interest you? Do you want Broadway shows (New York City) or cattle wrangling (Wyoming) or just the "other" pond (Pacific Ocean - California, Oregon or Washington State) or something inbetween? Oh, there isn't anything inbetween, but lots and lots of wheat and corn fields, LOL.

There's always Las Vegas? Do you like history or entertainment or have a favorite author or climate? I might be prejudiced because I was born there but I think I'd go to Virginia and get the whole Jamestown, Williamsburg and Yorktown experience. They did have the whole 2007, 400 year birthday thing with the Queen? http://www.jamestown2007.org/

If you like the outdoors, how about the west coast? The summer before last, I went with my family on a trip from Vancouver to Oregon and back - we spent most of our time in cabins or yurts: http://www.oregon.gov/OPRD/PARKS/rustic.shtml.

Send me a PM if you'd like to know more! U.S. holiday ideas

I am not good at adding links but I must say the west seems to offer the most variety.

Grand Canyon, Mesa Verde, Yellowstone, The redwoods in Ca., the beauty of the Northwest coast line, etc.

I live in the midwest, pretty, but not much to write home about U.S. holiday ideas.

When do you plan to visit the US?

We would love to have you over here and welcome you with open arms. May I humbly suggest the Mountain City of Asheville NC. Asheville is small but cosmopolitan and progressive town at the foot hills of the North Carolina blue ridge mountains. Attractions include the famous Biltmore House, a gigantic mansion built in the late 1800's by railroad magnate Corneleous Vanderbuilt. The grounds arround it boast spectacular flower gardens in the spring. There is also a working winery there. If you are here in the fall, the blue ridge parkway nearby offers some truly magnificent scenery with the changing of the leaves. There is also the famous Blowing Rock, Mile-high swinging bridge, and of course the Cherokee Indian reservation. Anyway let us know what you decide

Well, how much you want to spend, time and money? It takes 6 hours to fly from the East Coast of the US to the West and a goodly bit extra money.

Colorado and the West has the "best' outdoors but there are nice mountains, the Great Smokies in North Carolina/Asheville, as Timgt5 says. You could go to Nashville, Tennessee, get a little country music while you're down that way :-) http://www.tnvacation.com/

That's an idea; all the states have travel brochures; I'd find a list of states and find websites that have a way to have them send you their brochures. That will give you reading material.

Everywhere has outdoors that's gorgeous; coast of Maine, barrier islands off North Carolina and Florida (Key West), and it's all different. If you're going Fall, you have to do New England, see the leaves change: http://www.capetrain.com/ http://www.conwayscenic.com/ http://www.rails-vt.com/

The Ozarks are pretty too. The 3rd weekend in October we have a huge craft fair. There are craft fairs all over the place. The leaves have begun to turn their beautiful colors by then and its gorgeous. But then I'm bias cuz I live here.

How about the beach? There are some beautiful, wild, natural islands off the coast of South Carolina, North Carolina, or Georgia. One "famous" outdoorsy beach is the Outterbanks in North Carolina.....

Just beautiful.

Well if you are considering a fall trip to the states, the Northeastern states are the place to be for viewing the foliage and mountains and lakes. They are second to none to see!

Happy Travels!
