Sims2 on the PC

I've also played on the Game Cube but since I got into the PC version a few years ago anything else annoys me very quickly.

This game is ok. Im not a huge fan of it tho cuz i kinda suck at it lol. I mean if i cant even organize my life, how the crap am i supposed to organize a video game characters life? especially when it takes that video game character an hour or two to use the bathroom and maybe two more hours to get dressed and half an hour to walk the length of the house lol.

the house needs to have a logical structure and the appliances etc need to be arranged logically such that there is a smooth run from the bed to the front door (getting things done along the way on the way out in the mornings :-) plants along the driveway helps them feel happy when they go off to work, too :-)

really helps to have a few people in a house so you can diversify their skills, too. you only need one cook, for example.

i got really hooked into it for a while there. by biggest problem (as it is in life) is in having the friends necessary to make that career advance :-)

simcity, too. that one hooked me in for a while. trouble was that i kept making the same kind of city over and over and that eventually got boring...

put the entire schools system incl. museum and library / health / police etc in right from the start. you need to be careful to keep the funding at appropriate levels for the population (e.g., next to nothing right at the start - only 1 teacher etc). Build high density zones within their scope (two roads with connections and a greenbelt in between with trees or small parks and enough room for rail later). Always use hydropower and / or windmills. highest speed (intermittently adjusting funding) until education is high (all green) in city stats. Up the taxation (very high) on dirty industry (and bulldoze it) so it gets replaced with high tech and there isn't pollution. when all is well and you are raking in profits THEN AND ONLY THEN provide water and then you get some population density and soaring property values. When you are raking in profits then do the same thing a way away (with no connecting road or rail). Only when both are running at profits connect them at your peril!!!

Sigh. I think I'm a bit OCD in my game playing style. Same thing over and over and over and over...

Some probably call it cheating but I just say I modify my game. I have several hacks installs to prevent annoying behaviors such as toddlers playing in toilets and Sims running to see every new object I placed in the house. I also have hacks that get rid of the requirement of friends for careers and make outside plants not require gardening work. I just have to focus on the skill points to advance in careers.

Those of you that play...Do you install custom items in your game too? What are your favorite custom content sites?

My game is so modified, it's so funny. I download houses, clothes, hair styles, and other items. I can't play without using cheats lol. I also use the boolprop cheat so I can drag the bars up if want.
