I thought this was kind of cool. NASA (American space agency) will embed your name on a chip that's going in the next moon orbiter.

Here's the info
NASA info

and the link to add your name
add your name

Space: The final frontier. send your name to the moon! send your name to the moon!

How cool is that! Hopefully that chip won't go by the way of the floppy disk and can't be read 50 years later send your name to the moon!

You aren't kidding. I have two copies of my masters thesis: on a Zip disc, and on a floppy.

Oops. send your name to the moon!

Very Cool indeed! thanks for the info

On the other hand I would prefer the "Dr Evil, aquire a giant "lazer" and carve my name on the moon" approach

LOL

I wonder if we could send someone else's name. I'd like to send my mom's. Kind of like a memorial...saying my mom really made it to an amazing place--even after death!!!!

I'm sure they won't have the FBI come around to check if the names sent are of those still around. send your name to the moon! At least I hope not -- my dad's been gone 9 years and I sent his! He would have loved it and I thought it was a neat way to remember and memorialize him.

send your name to the moon! send your name to the moon!

LOL no, we're sending people we DON'T like somewhere a lot farther -- a nice 3 trillion light-years or so. You can actually reasonably get to the moon, so he'd have a chance of coming back! send your name to the moon!

Awesome thought TG, I really admire you for wanting to do that for your mom.

My respects
