42.

Has anybody read the book by Douglas Adams - The hitchikers guide to the galaxy? If so, what are your views on the 'ultimate question' and did your views change after reading it?

Loved Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the movie ruined the book The meaning of life is...

The meaning I generally find in life is the basic 'meaning' of life- to pass on your genes, survive for as long as you can, and later die.

I don't think life has an ultimate, deep meaning, except for the meaning we give it ourselves.

Love the quotes in the book though...
"Life," said Marvin dolefully, "loathe it or ignore it, you can't like it."

I have read the series and enjoyed it thoroughly. I think that the meaning of life is something each of us have to figure out for ourselves and ourselves alone.

I agree with Timgt5 - I think the meaning of life is different for all of us.... and yeah, the movie did spoil the book!

Maybe the meaning of life is to find out the meaning of life? hmmm The meaning of life is...
