I have a column due Monday, and I'm desperate. So I started cruising the small-town weeklies to see if they had anything worth expanding on.

One of them published a few 1st graders' musings on Earth Day. (Yes, I know it was in April, but they move slow in small towns. ;-) I couldn't resist sharing my favorite.

Because if we take care of Earth we could have a better place to live. I'm lucky you have Earth. Earth had everything we need on your land. Earth has is a good place an it has a sun and people like the Earth. Earth has avery good stuff like food but the most important is Earth. That's food for Earth to clean old garbage too. Countries too. That's good, clean Earth Day.
