any Brenda Lee fans?

Oh my, I don't know how I get myself into these things....but I'm interviewing Brenda Lee on Thursday in advance of her upcoming appearance here.

Yes, I checked the website, etc, but once again (you might remember I went through this once before with a much less famous group), I have no earthly idea what to say/ask to someone who's been around for 100 years and has heard it all before.

I am too young to know anything she might have done besides that one Christmas song they play every year.

Can someone help me out here?

Brenda who? sorry candybear, im behind on the who's who stage.... i remember the previous thread tho, hopefully you gained some experience with working with the unknown... start with a few 'common' facts about her and then merge the known with what you feel and let it flow? assume the best..

Brenda Lee Christmas is my ultimate favorite Christmas music EVER!!!! The Angel and the Little Blue Bell makes me cry every time I hear it. I was SO happy when they finally released it on CD (not as good as vinyl, but...)

don't forget she was on Ed Sullivan Show, plus **** Clarks, American Bandstand

"Little Miss Dynamite" She must be really short now, age does that and she wasn't tall to begin with.

Wonderful voice and person! "I'm sorry" is still popular on the Golden Oldies stations today.

I guess you could ask her what HER favorite song, experience etc is/was in the industry.

You might want to do a search on Youtube for her. I found some videos but didn't want to post here because it's a no-no. It might help to get acquainted with her songs and her singing.

Sometimes they even have interviews of singers on video.

I just hung up with Brenda Lee. I think I love her.

I talk to a lot of "famous" people as a matter of course, whether they're local celebrities or world leaders (I interviewed a former president of Poland once). The artistic types usually are prickliest. (The politicians and diplomats are always smooth enough to say what they think they should instead of what they're really thinking.) But wow, it's been a long time since I've run into someone with this level of notoriety who was so down to earth and friendly and actually interested, rather than just going through the motions. She even had some advice for my boy, the musician.

I also have to offer kudos to Sky for supplying most of my questions , though once we got rolling I came up with a few of my own

Wow, it'll be nice to do something right for a change. I hope the freaking editors notice. I got email from the entertainment editor this morning asking the status of this story. I told him he would have it by the end of the day and he wrote back and said "that's awesome, thank you -- I can always count on you." I asked him to forward that to the bosses! Maybe it will help.

Oh, my, my husband was in love with her :-) He was a disc jockey when he was a teenager, interviewed Fats Domino but Brenda was one of his girls.
