It's hard for me to go out, to get away, realize I'm a bit agoraphobic!
My favorite aunt has a lovely house on Flat Top Lake, 1.5 hours away from here. I went up for an overnight, and Aunt Gerri and I fished. Fish weren't biting, and we were about to give up. Then I thought my line was tangled, then started trying to reel it in. What a fighter that fish was! It was a HUGE largemouth bass! Never caught one before, and didn't even know what it was! Had a good time, boat ride, relaxing, reading, napping. They've invited me back again this coming week, said come "anytime I want" and I may do so. Doesn't cost much to go there, and i have curtailed my travels this summer because of the cost of gasoline. Anyone else here like to fish? Love Patty |

oh I love fishing. been too hot lately though. where I go has no shade at all! congrats on the big fish! did you take a pic? I find fishing to be very relaxing!

Large mouth bass? Lucky! The largest I caught was a small mouth bass, and it weighed in at about 5 pounds. Haven't fished in a few years, sadly.

this probably sounds sad and silly, but i used to. Now i feel bad for the fish??Seriously, i worry about hurting them. Im a softie.

Fishing is something i miss, it was a great childhood memory. Its fun, but i like to catch and release.

Thanks for all the responses! I do enjoy fishing, but I also think I'm hurting living creatures a bit, even baiting the hook with a squirming worm! Most of the time it's catch and release when I fish, but I've been told that these fish usually die from the trauma of being caught. Not good, I guess. We did keep the bass and my uncle cleaned it.

I think fish and stuff like that were put here for food. I don't practice catch and release because I feel they are injured already and would probably die. not if caught in the lip area but if they swallow the hook they are not going to live. the dr told my dad if it didn't fly or swim not to eat it lol.

yum bass.
I used to fish alot! Even as a teen would wade in the surf at sunrise and catch snook. Now that's YUM!
