i've been spending a lot of time outside lately. hiking, kayaking and the like. i love the maine outdoors but there is only a short period of time each year to enjoy it. Being out there really helps me relax and stop worrying even if just for a while. Last week, during a kayaking trip a friend and i paddled up to 4 moose. we sat there watching them and it seemed like everything was going to be ok great outdoors glad i've been getting out.

I love being outside!!
Some of my favorite things are canoing and camping and having bonfires. I haven't got to go camping this summer because most of my friends are not outdoors people, and I work alot but I hope I get to before school starts.

I here Maine is beautiful and from the pictures I've seen it's breathtaking. I've never seen a moose up close and personal and I think I would be a little scared of them, they are so big compared to deer!!
Never been kyaking either, Is it like canoing?

it's a bit like canoeing but i like kayaking a LOT more. yeah, the moose are huge, and they can be a bit scary. i got a little nervous being that close, cuz if the big boy had gotten annoyed it could have been trouble!!!!
maine is def beautiful, sometimes i forget how great it is. the winters are SO long, and while i try to get out in the winter too, the summer is a much needed relief from the cold.

Hmm, I will definatly have to try kyaking out when I get the chance.
I'm jealous of your cold weather, I live in the south so it gets cold, but not as cold as I would like it to get, and snow is a big deal if it does snow because mostly the winters are dry. I love cold weather
