Oh, I know I said I'd remain "dog free" but I went to the animal shelter today and brought home a pup...such a cutie, a golden retriever mix, male. He is maybe 8 weeks old, but so smart! Little fella goes outside to potty when I take him, and hasn't had any accidents.
I had to give him a bath and flea treatment and pull a few ticks off.
He's so sweet! I'll post a pic soon.

I never had a dog until I was in my 50's, and now I don't even remember what it is like not to have dogs. They make life more bearable and more complete. Have fun with the puppy.

When I wrote my checks to adopt him at the animal shelter, I did tell the woman there that I have three cats, and I wasn't sure how this would work out, but the cats are fine, and the little fella (puppy) is respectful toward them. It's going to be a beautiful relationship for all of them!
I will formally "adopt" and keep him...he's so smart, and his name is "Fozzie Bear!"
Thanks all of you!

My sister foster cares rescued animals and she ends up keeping them... they have brought her such joy and they just adore her...

OMG He is so adorable. Thanks for sharing the picture. I wish I could visit and play with him. And I think the name is perfect. Glad that he's getting along with your cats.

LOL, thanks, Rainbowzz...
He is such a sweet pup, and doing well in his house training, as long as I am watchful.
I am sweating like a pig right now from working in the fenced yard, puppy-proofing it, using wire fence to block all possible escape holes. He loved being outside in the grass as I was working.
He loves going outside in the grass, and I've seen him "pointing" at bugs in the grass. He is mostly Golden Retriever, but has some other kind of dog in him too. His sister at the shelter had cute hound dog ears, and was so sweet. There were three of them, and i wish I could have brought all three home!
