I mean the movie. Anyone going to see Mamma Mia? It comes out on Friday. i am really excited for it. I just hope I don't end up anticipating it too much and hating it. I saw the show on Broadway last year and really really loved it.

I think that is the one musical that I'll like. I'm looking forward to it.

Yeah, I'm a musical theater junkie. LOL! I saw Hairspray last summer 9 times, and have it on dvd now. I wonder if Mamma Mia can break that record?

I went to see it on stage, which was pretty cool earlier this year. I'm seeing the movie on Friday with a couple of people, who all pre-ordered tickets. I'm kinda excited.

didn't they use up all the abba tunes in 'priscilla queen of the desert?'
how can you have a gay abba musical without gay people in it?

[b] AWESOME!!!! I would go see it again and again!!!!

What a great movie! I think you need to be at least 50 years old to fully KNOW and RE-experience all of it... though it's a great musical for any not child age.... I took my 88 yr old mother who also enjoyed it immensely!

I laughed til I cried, I "sang" along with it (you know, in your mind) and at the end, the audience (all of us looked 50 + APPLAUDED in sheer delight!

Anyone going to see Mamma Mia? What a great, great movie! If they ONLY made movies this good all the time, I'd pay double to see them!

She will DEFINITELY get an award for this!!!!

Unexpected elements add surprise and delight, too.

THUMBS UP! Anyone going to see Mamma Mia?

I saw the stage production and loved it. The movie review of it in the paper was pretty good too, so I'll probably wind up going to see it. I'm a closet ABBA fan.

I saw it and loved it! Okay, it was only ruined for me because I like the Broadway cast better, but unfortunately they would not be able to sell a movie since they are unknowns to most people. It was still really fun though and I want to see it again.

My newspaper reviewer gave it a horrible review, but he pretty much just wrote a bunch of crap to complain about and in the middle pretty much said he hates musicals. I bet he is just a closet ABBA fan who doesn't want to admit it. Anyone going to see Mamma Mia?

And although I am only 24, I really was excited to see the stage production because I love the music. Heck, I was singing and dancing around my kitchen cooking on Wednesday listening to the Broadway cast album. And yes, definitely see the stage production if you can. Carolee Carmello as Donna is fantastic!

I went and saw it tonight!! Anyone going to see Mamma Mia?

Absolutely great. I've never been in a movie where people are clapping in periods throughout the entire movie. And singing. And laughing. Lots of fun! Anyone going to see Mamma Mia?

I've coughed up the cash, and am going again tomorrow.

Today the tickets sold out one hour before the show! Crazy, glad I got mine earlier this week (someone bought it for me).

I went to see it last night with my girls because one of them wanted to see it. I really wasn't interested as I don't like musicals. But I was surprised--I liked this one! It is a lot of fun and has a lot of heart. I knew nothing of the plot so everything was a surprise to me. I like how they mixed the Abba songs into the plot and they seemed to actually fit. (I don't even like the music of Abba, but this worked!) Very joyful movie. Both my girls (teenagers) liked it too. One of them told me the young female lead, Sophie, was played by the "dumb" girl from Mean Girls. I'm not sure, I couldn't remember ever seeing her in anything, but I thought she was very good, as was the rest of the cast (loved how they mixed in the Greek villagers in the ensemble numbers Anyone going to see Mamma Mia?).

Actually, the movie is based on the Broadway show, so the ABBA music was not just thrown in as a second throught. That's just incase nobody knew about it. And yes, Amanda Seyfried played Karen in Mean Girls. This is actually her first big movie role, I believe. Yeah, Mean Girls was huge, but she was still sort of an unknown and did not have very many speaking lines. She was also in Alpha Dog, but that movie was bad.

I might, with my sisters, who both very much want to see it. It looks like a lot of fun. One of my sisters saw the musical, and liked it very much. Our paper didn't give it a great review, but also didn't say it was completely horrible either. I think the reviewer liked it more than they realized. There's gotta be something to it if it was a hit on Broadway.
