Do you ever have those days when you are so sleepy in the head that you can't be bothered to get out of bed? How do you overcome this feeling?:Zzzz:

I can't drink coffee because it causes my anxiety to get out of control

Hate to say it but: if no caffeine, then a freezing cold shower. Kind of miserable, yes, but then afterwards you are awake (and feeling warm).

Also, peppermint (for example, in tea) is supposed to make you more alert. Jury's still out for me on that one, though.

Anyone else have non-coffee ideas? I'd like to hear them, too.

yours,
annie bell

If I don't HAVE to get out of bed, I don't! LOL The smell of coffee brewing is enough to make me want to, though, not to mention my back hurting when I lay in bed too long. That's no fun!

Don't have any "no coffee" ideas, though.

I put an alarm where I can;t reach it in bed - I have to get out ofbed to turn it off.

And it's not one of those music alarms, it's one of those

BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPBEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPBEEEEEEEEEPBEEEEEEEEEEEP

ones that just grate against your brain and ears until you want to destroy your ears, and then continue on to destroy everythign that makes that noise with a mallet @_@.

But by that time you can't tell what makes that noise because you've ripped off your ears ^^

My motivation is that I HAVE to go to work, but while I was off during the summer, if I felt like sleeping late, or later, I just did!

That's the only way I get out of bed too... and I hate those alarms. The thing is they're so irritating (and I know that's the point), but it doesn't exactly put you in the best of moods.

Do you know what I'd love... if anyone's heard of S.A.D lights, there's one that's got a timer on and the light gradually comes on until it wakes you up 'naturally'... it allows you to wake up in a better mood. I'm seriously thinking about investing in one.

I sleep some more..... but if you really want to get out of bed try a shower to wake you up... cooler the water the better... then get outside for some good old sunshine and fresh air.
