I have been almost in 3 wrecks today that wouldn't have been my fault. 2 of them were people swerving into my lane of traffic and one person putting it in reverse and almost backing up into me.

Little Chloe's horn is getting a work out today sheesh. I realize she is black but it is sunny out today so that is no excuse for these stupid drivers. The last one just swerved from the inside lane across my lane and into the convience store parking lot good thing my brakes work well and there was no one behind me.

I have to go to Springdale here in a few minutes which means driving on the bypass so that should be fun with how I seem to be attracting stupid drivers today. Stupid drivers driving 70 mph hmmmmmmmmmmm what a combo.

((((((((((((( jbug )))))))))))))))) I am sorry that you have encountered bad drivers today, it does seem like certain days are worse then others. One day I almost had three wrecks all with the same car and it was because they kept coming into my lane. I hope your trip went okay and you didn't have to face anymore dangerous drivers.

I try to drive as little as possible...much happier on a bus or subway reading a book than getting my blood to a boil behind the wheel. Luckily I'm in a city with good public transit.

Personally, I think that everyone should have to retake a driver's road test every 5 years. There are a couple of malls here where the drivers are so bad, that I'm afraid to leave my car parked, because I never know what's going to happen to it. Oh and living in a Northern country, I think everyone should have to pass a driver's test in Winter, like they do in Switzerland, it's absolutely terrifying the number of people who haven't a clue how to drive in snow.

I wish we had public transportation but alas living in podunk Arkansas we don't. In Fayetteville they do but mainly for the University students to get around town. Here in Rogers we do but I can't take that when I go to my parents in Bella Vista or to my therapists in Springdale because our bus services don't run between cities .

I don't like how urban our little ole part of the country is becoming. I miss the way it was when we moved here in '95. I have heard we are one of the quickest growing areas in the Nation due to who our major industry is...Walmart. Their home offices are here so they have this thing that if you are going to have product in their store you have to have a marketing person here so that means for every item you see in their store we have someone here selling to them.

jbug, I hear you about bus travel. I like to travel by bus between cities if I can do so, yet when I tell people that they look at me as if I've gone off the deep end. Why not drive? Or take a plane?

It's kind of sad that people fly between cities that are a few hours away on the road or rails...but even if you wanted to take the more modest option, services have been cut back so much that it's hard to do so, as your situation demonstrates.

I can't say what things are like in Arkansas, but I can imagine. Suburbs are sprawling out everywhere that are virtually inaccessible except by car...and they're so spread out that people spend hours a day commuting. Yet if you want to be able to afford a house, where can you go except one of these new communities? Bah, boils the blood talking about it.

I live in Rogers which is the next city over from Bentonville which is the home offices of Walmart. Bentonville has about 30,000 and Rogers has about 40,000. My parents live in Bella Vista which used to be a retirement village but then the vendors started moving in because it was so small and nice and it has grown to almost the size of Bentonville. It used to be unincorporated but do it growing so much they had to incorporate last year and you wouldn't believe the kicking and screaming that took. I go to therapy in Springdale but I take the bypass for that so it only takes me about 20 minutes but if I speed it doesn't take me as long but since I only have a few points left on my driver's license I don't speed very often anymore.

Living here has its ups and downs but I guess that is anywhere.
