I live alone, so I don't have a family to cook for. I will often go get something from one of the many fast food restaurants nearby...I mean NEARBY~! within a couple of minutes from me. Eventually, one seems to get sick of it all! I have KFC, Arbys, Subway, Pizza Hut, MacDonalds, and another pizza place with the $5 "hot and ready pizza" (can't think of the name). I swear they all start to taste like cardboard after a while. Tonight I made toasted cheese and tomato soup and it tasted SO good! LOL!

I'm in the same boat, and I'm definitely sick of it. But when $1 is all you have in your pocket to eat on, $1 menus look pretty good. ;-) Right now I am waiting for a check to show up so I can afford real food. In the meantime, scrounging the car and sofa cushions for spare change is going to have to do.

Candybear...I do that also...scrounge around in the car, deep in my purse, for change for the cheap food! On the other hand, the toasted cheese and tomato soup were probably cheaper and tastier than the driving out to the fast food!

I love grilled cheese and tomato soup too, I just don't have any bread, cheese, or soup on hand. Basically, right now I have an orange and a little pasta. Good thing bucks will be arriving today! -- now that you all have made me hungry for grilled cheese and tomato soup.

yes, i sure do get sick of it sometimes. our nest is empty and our children gone and things do not really seem like fun to cook. i wish i could go back and slow down to enjoy our broke with children days and even our single and very broke days.

now that i don't need it very much i've discovered some wonderful websites that help people stretch those few dollars and get out of debt and the least expensive way to do practically everything. many of them actually make it so fun and creative that i am amazed at what they manage to do. some of my favorites are about.com/frugality; living on a dime.com; simple dollar; literally there are hundreds more and this area will be booming with all the bad financial news right now.

if this interests you, jump in and i can assure you it will help you as much as you want it too.

I don't eat out very often, you can guess why since I have five kids.LOL I have discovered though when I do get the rare opportunity to eat out I would rather go to a buffet then fast food place. Of course I practically grew up on a variety of fast foods so occasionally I do crave a bit of it but I do get burned out quick. My feelings on tomato soup and grilled cheese is Yucky, I don't like either so the combo is even less appealing.
to anyone who needs them.

I get tired of fast food also. I can't eat some of it so am limited as to the fast food resturants I can go to and then I can only eat certain things on their menus.

So yes I agree fast food although cheap is boring. I like to take whatever I have in my pantry and make inventions.

i seldom eat fast foods, although right now i am craving a .99 double cheeseburger at McDonalds and maybe some fries. Twice a year I pig out on those double burgers. Maybe once in awhile a trip to taco bell is satisfying. Oh geesh, pizza.. yum.. guess i don't really eat much fast food. guess if i ate a lot of it i'd be sick of it too..

now the tomato soup and grilled cheese is a winner. i must be hungry because all night i have been copying all these cookie and fudge recipies for Christmas. am trying sooo hard to shed lbs and my diet lately has been very light. mostly fresh veggies, fruit and chicken... fast food sounds mighty good about now.

the only thing that keeps me from eating fast cheap and tasty is the fact that I'm a vegetarian. frankly it's sometimes a big pain. i go to the mcdonalds that is a block away and get the 2-for-a-buck pies though, and coffee, and that is a cheap treat.

i wish there were more veg fast food options, because i am perfectly willing to give up my nutrition. pollo loco has the BRC (bean rice and cheese) burrito, which is a good cheap snack, but there isn't one too near here. burger king as a veggie burger but since i have exactly the same thing in my freezer i feel stupid going and having them microwave it for me. it's handy in airports though.

I crave soup. butternut pumpkkin (or squash or whatever) or basil and tomato... I really need to get to the supermarket (inconvenient) instead of living on bar food and delivery pizza / burritos which is basically what i've been doing for the last month or so.

i need a good recipe for potato salad... mmmmmmmm potato salad.

i miss... rice salads and the like. trouble is that i don't really know how to cook and healthy cooking is expensive. plan is to stock up on cartons of soup. mmmm soup. i'm making myself hungry :-/

But then... All I had today was a Ben and Jerry's shake :-(
