I thought those of you who live where snow doesn't exist (or happens rarely) might like to see what's happening out my way!

I've never seen snow. Here is South Africa, we are in the height of summer right now and it is really very hot! My son would love to experience a snowy Christmas. I have family in the States so maybe one day it will be possible.

Sabrina, I'm happy to trade places with you just as soon as you like!

When I woke up this morning, the temperature was -26 C. Be careful what you wish for!

Then, my dear, here are some more for you. Although the first couple are not happy reminders of the season, unless you like crunched cars!

Candybear, thanks for the photos. I enjoy looking at pictures of the white "stuff" but don't want to have to deal with it.

I live in the southern US. The high was in the 80's today! -26C is unbelievable! BRRRRRRRR!!!!!!

Awwwwww, MAN! Some of you Southerners got to invite me to visit.

It has actually been in the mid to upper 30s here the last couple days, so stuff has been melting -- which means that overnight, the slush refreezes, of course -- it's ever so much fun. NOT. But, you learn to deal with it. Doesn't mean you stop complaining about it, though! That's half the fun! LOL

WOW CANDY!!!!!!!!!! I'VE NEVER EVER BEEN SOMEPLACE LIKE YOU ARE BEFORE.

WHEN I WAS A CHILD WE LIVED IN SAN ANTONO, TEXAS. MY MOM WOULD LET US STAY HOME IF WE GOT 1/2 INCH OF SNOW OVERNIGHT!!!!! AS THEY SAY, "IT'S A DIFFERENT WORLD....THAN WHERE YOU COME FROM"

I STILL SELDOM GET SNOW WHERE I AM IN THE STATE OF TEXAS, BUT I LIVED IN OKLAHOMA ONCE UPON A TIME AND GOT JUST ENOUGH SNOW TO TO FIGURE OUT THE DIFFICULTIES. LIKE LOCKING MY KEYS IN THE CAR WHILE IT WAS RUNNING AND THE SNOW WAS FALLING AND MY CAR WAS ON EMPTY!!!!l (LOL AT MYSELF) iT WAS FAR ENOUGH IN THE PAST THAT I GOT MY CAR DOOR TO OPEN WITH A COAT HANGER - IN 30 SECONDS FLAT, WHICH TELLS YOU HOW OFTEN I LOCKED MY KEYS INSIDE THE CAR. I WAS VERY DISTRACTIBLE

I'M SORRY FOR YOU BEING MAROONED IN THE ICY NORTH! WISH WE HAD THE MONEY TO TRADE PLACES FOR A WEEK. IT WAS ABOUT 70 DEGREES ON CHRISTMAS DAY - IT WAS WONDERFUL BECAUSE IT HAD BEEN 23 DEGREES A FEW DAYS BEFORE, THOUGH IT WAS NOTHING LIKE YOUR 21 BELOW CENTIGRADE.

HANG TOUGH!

Ahhhhhhhhh. Thanks for the warm-weather picture. Oh, and btw, I've locked my keys in a running car twice -- both in winter.

23 in Wisconsin is a heatwave this time of year, LOL.

On the positive side, I do love having all 4 seasons. Here's a link to a slideshow by the photographers at my former paper. The ones that were chosen were left in chronological order, so you can see the progression from Jan. to Dec. 2008, and they purposely left out captions, so you could write your own in your head. I thought it turned out rather nicely.

I have some (extremely) amateur ones I took at my sister's and will get them posted....later. LOL I'm using the rest of today and most of tomorrow to recover from the trip!
