I hope i have not over done it on my son here. I just wanted (((everyone))))) to know . He started wreastling at his home school to learn how to defend himself. His choice not mine. Hes 18 now so he can make his choice.
Its his last year of school. Today was his first meet. He took second
He got a medal.
He had to do a heaver weight class then he wanted.
I am very proud he took a stand for himself all on his own.
I understand nothing on this sport. lololol
With all his issues this year ..... he took control.
ty for all your support on him.
He knows you all care
thank you

((((((((((((( muffy ))))))))))))))))

Organized sports are so good for kids, it helps with self esteem issues. It sounds like you have raised a fine young man, I think he made a good decision in joining wrestling.

I'm so excited and happy for both of you. That's a wonderful thing! Of course, you're a wonderful mom and he's a wonderful son so it's no surprise!

You're a good mom, ((Muffy)) - and your boy is a smart kid! Wrestling was an excellent idea on many levels.

Well he had another match ((i think thats what you call it )) last night
My son won thats the good news awwwwwwww

but as life would have it while at school today . He was playing floor hockey. And his face ((mouth))) met a hockey stick.
WHich is never a good thing. WHy do they not wear masks?
SO its been kinda of a busy morning. My daughter has gone to get him at school. Then we see about some stictches....
Plus he does not feel good. Hes already had mono
but has convinced himself he does
So a blood test along with the other.
Which if by some slim chance he has it again.,And that can just not be
He will be out of wreastling....
Gotta love this kid awwwwwwwwwww
muffy

He needs bubble wrap awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
But boy is he good at wreastling.....
Just does not have that duck thing down yet awwwwwwwwwwww

Very good news YAYAYAYA
his mono test came back Neg. I really did not want to go threw that again. As he already had it. Even better he did not need stitches. YAYA
Yes ((kathy )) i guess that would make him a toy then ,,,,and I can not protect him forever....

The best part about today is I reliazed how much of a man he has become. We went to the store after Drs. He took everything outta the cart for me. I know it seems small. But I found I had to stand back as I am not use to someone doing that for me. It was a awww moment. When I relaized he is a gentleman awwww
He also has been sleeping on the couch nearest my room. I thought he was feeling not secure. There i go assuming.
He told me today when I asked him what was going on. That he had been worrying about me. So he wanted to be near in case I needed anything...
I am very proud of him. He treats his girlfriend the same way.((hes been worryed about her having mono)) Some how he became a man . Hes very much like his great grandfather.

Muffy...
That's great news about your son! But sorry he got hit with a hockey stick also! I hope he is healing quickly and feeling better.

In my constant search of trivia and history, it is said that wrestling is the most ancient of all sports:

If the Olympic Games are a history of mankind, wrestling is the prologue. When the ancient Games of the Olympiad were born, wrestling already was an ancient game. Widely recognised as the world's oldest competitive sport, wrestling appeared in a series of Egyptian wall paintings as many as 5000 years ago. When the Games began in 776 BC, more than two millenniums later, it included wrestling, and, in the years that followed, wrestling featured as the main event.

The sport would return in a similar role when the Olympic Games returned after a 1500-year absence in 1896. Organisers, seeking direct links to ancient times, found a natural in the sport that had enjoyed popularity across much of the ancient world, from Greece, Assyria and Babylon to India, China and Japan. They resurrected Greco-Roman wrestling, a style they believed to be an exact carryover from the Greek and Roman wrestlers of old.

In Greco-Roman wrestling, the wrestlers used only their arms and upper bodies to attack. They could hold only those same parts of their opponents. It worked nicely from a historical perspective, but another breezier style was sweeping across Great Britain and the United States by then. Known as "catch as catch can", it had become standard fare - and popular professional entertainment - at fairs and festivals in both countries.

In 1904, the Olympic Games added the second wrestling event and called it "freestyle". Now, wrestlers could use their legs for pushing, lifting and tripping, and they could hold opponents above or below the waist.
Thanks for this!

I can not tell you how proud I am of him. For this young man to go from being a child who could not speak. who was so uncomfortable with other ppl. He could not even look in anyones eyes when young. Suffered at times great depression. ((he still does from time to time)) but now he talks about it.
As it was due to the PDD((a form of autisum))
To a child who at 4 or 5 weighed close to 200lbs. They checked him for the disease where you grow to fast. To lossing that weight ((on his own)))
To being beat up 2xs and I am sure much more than I know.

To now this ........in my eyes is a mircle. One I am so grateful for. And he did it all on his own. This....
I am so proud he brought home a tropy...in my eyes the tropy is hes functioning .....(((seeker))))) thank you so much for the info on this.
Thank you everyone for listening to me on him all these times..
Dreams do come true...
