The owner mentioned he was going to the store so I asked him to pick me up some fresh ginger. He said ok and then suddenly turned around, with furrowed brow, looking me right in the eyes saying “don’t you EVER cook me any food with ginger in it because I HATE ginger.” Innocently I replied with a “oo ok sure”..

So he comes home with this sushi party tray. Ooo you having a party tonight, I asked. He said nope, he was hungry and when he saw the sushi it looked good so he bought it. He then tells me to help myself to the sushi. .. Seems some days that wasabi is hotter than other days because this time tears were rolling down my cheeks and I was trying hard to not gasp for air as the burning sensation was trying to burn a hole in my tongue and throat. With one of those “haha type smiles” the owner looks at me and says that must be pretty hot.

Anyway, in the center of the platter are two containers, one with wasabi and the other one is white stuff. Owner is eagerly trying everything on the platter and asks me what the white stuff was. Shrugged my shoulders and said I did not know and told him to taste it.. He is dipping in the “white stuff” saying it wasn’t bad and keeps on eating it.. …… Well… smile……. This afternoon I read on the lid what all was in the party tray. Well.. would you believe the white stuff was “GINGER”.. smiles…. I am not telling him either… smile
