uk has been brought to a standstill after some snow fell across the country from sunday night, been sitting listning to local radio station, we only had about four inches i know compared to the rest of the world this isnt a lot but because we dont get snow every year, they wont spend the money putting snow ploughs on busses and trains, just incase we get snow so now they are gritting major routes as fasrt as they can and advising ppl not to travel unless nescasary,

i heard anouncement just now asking for hospital staff who live near the hospital to report to the hospital,

we dont intend to go anywhere as we live in between two steep hills

I spent all day yesterday in the snow!!!!!
It is all ridiculous though how they are 'coping' with this.

Oh, it was really quite deep here earlier, starting to thaw now. Went for the best walk ever this morning with the children, they used a dinner tray to slide down the roads! lol! It was great to see! Absolutely no cars anywhere, just people walking and enjoying the snow.

wow, all the snow sure sounds fun. its been a long time since i've seen any real snow. when i was in my 20's we got a good snow and i went out around 1 am and we had a load of fun sliding on large thick plastic bags. that was sure a good memory. i hope all you snowy brits get some real fun before it fades away.

We've still got quite a bit just outside of London. But then a lot of it has compacted and turned to ice so it's very slippery outside. Travelling is ok once you're out of the housing areas and onto larger roads, but I don't feel safe trying to drive, so I'm just not!

I've heard we are getting more tomorow night, Thursday and Friday. I don't really mind it, but only because I've not really got to be anywhere that isn't walking distance.

Hey guys

I live in Scotland. We had the worst snow in years. I was on Night Shift when the snow started to fall. Awwwwwe it looked so cool. Was a nightmare to get home from work though. I do not drive. Ended up the buses were running extremley late. So i called the taxi company. I would have to wait 30 mins for a taxi. No way i thought. So i walked my friend who was also on Night Shift with me home. She lives pretty much on the out skirts of the city centre. I live the other end so i had to pass her house anyways. I left work at 830am and got to my house at 945am. It was mental. By 12pm all schools, council workers and buses were cancelled. A little bit of snow and the whole city stops. It was shocking. People were having to queue up for taxi's waiting hours to get home as the buses were all off.

Thank god the buses came back on at 3pm

Back when i was a kid not that long ago the snow was awesome up to your hips or even further. We definatley need to get our fingers out of our bums and chill out.

We dont know how lucky we are to get just that tiny bit of snow. England and Wales had it worse than us yet they all managed.
